The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh, that is funny... Nothing that bad has ever happened to anyone I know. I got my bank account when I was 16, though, and the only way they'd let me have one is if my dad's name went on it too. So technically he could have drained it any time he wanted... not that he would have.

Of course, I've known my parents' PIN number for years and years, and only ever used it once (at a store that wouldn't take credit, only debit, and I didn't have any money at all and Mom needed what I was buying).

"I have a friend in the comic business who was in the Joe Kubert School of Comic Art at the time"

Vey cool. When I was little I wanted to attend either there or John Buscema's school. Did your friend go on to draw anything?

You've got several months to forget, unless I really get my act together when I move...

Anyway the hero's named Edward, so maybe ksen's lying to annoy you... (or maybe he just typo'd and I'm being really obnoxious about it).

My eyes!!!

Apart from the blindness that induced, that was pretty funny, though. Hillary looks like she's taking a tip for Lothelia Sackville-Baggins :)

I will *bet money* that Dubya would have let the soldier go ahead and throw the pitch anyway... and would have simply arranged to get a catcher's mit and be the catcher for the ball.

What would you expect from a President who flies in to Bagdhad so he can serve Thanksgiving chow to the troops? And love doing it. You could tell by his eyes that he was the happiest person there.

The Bushes seem to have raised a decent bunch of kids, despite their great wealth (not as much as the Kennedys or Terrrezzzza, though) and aristocratic background.

My Dad opened my first account, too.

But that was at a different bank. So I'm not really sure HOW they did the address switch.

Dude, I've had a countdown to departure in my tagline for, oh, a month.

I think Cartoon Network shows anime late at night, have you checked into that?

Yep.

His name is Adam Warren. We were good friends in high school. He has done most of his work with the Dirty Pair. Here is a sample of his work.

He also did a series of Bubblegum Crisis.

Are those two Americanised versions of the Japanese manga of the same name? Or translations of the manga?

I have to check out Bubblegum Crisis someday. The name itself would make it worth a little time...

Eric.....Edward....I'm sure he wouldn't mind the mix-up. As long as we don't call him "Shorty."

The Dirty Pair stuff I know is his own storylines using the actual characters of the Japanese anime Dirty Pair, or Lovely Angels, Kei and Yuri.

Adam got the rights from the Creator of the Dirty Pair to do the American "Manga" versions.

Heeee.... Hagane no chibi-chan! (And I bet you got confused because their last name is "Elric".)

I know what you mean about CN, but some people like to watch edited, dubbed, and often changed beyond recognition anime. Apparently CN likes to digitally edit out things like blood, cigarettes, and booze...

And I didn't know that there were American titles based on Japanese comics! That's pretty cool. I believe the Japanese "Dirty Pair" can be a bit risque, maybe the American version would be worth looking for.

Whoops, I didn't mean to capitalize "creator." I must have thought I was in the wrong forum. ;^)

I think Adam has the only real anime stuff that is produced and created over here.

His Dirty Pair stories are good, but the art still has a lot of scantily clad women running around with high-powered firearms and explosives pretty much destroying everything in their path. Of course it's always Yuri's fault........at least Kei said so.
