New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Glad to see you made it safely! We had no traffic on the way home, as you predicted.
Did see a LOT of deer, though, going back to The House.
I have to confess, though...I cheated tonight. Margaret and I split a brownie sundae...but I didn't have dinner, so maybe it evens out, I hope! Tomorrow is weigh-in day!
I sure enjoyed our visit, and the impromptu concert in the parking lot was fun! I was glad to see the sibs again! I'll probably get the pictures loaded tomorrow. I'm going to freep a little bit then hit the hay!
I wish I still had my fish! All I've ever had are goldfish, though. Bettas sound cool! :) Someday I want to get a big fish tank.
Heh...I know you were only expecting two of us, but it kinda ended up like in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, if you've ever seen that. One by one everyone said, "Can I go too?" and we mobbed ya!
I think you get one day of sort of cheating, when you've been so good!
Oh, I think I overdid my lifting yesterday. My whole body is sore. It hurt to sit in church, on the pew, for the sermon (ours is close to 45 minutes). The best I've felt all day until now was when I was walking. I walked for an hour and felt really good.
Now, the (not very much!) alcohol is loosening me up nicely. Of course my typing has become atrocious.
Yep, we got robbed--same thing happened here.
Heh...I have no tolerance for alcohol either. Couple tablespoons of Baileys in a hot chocolate or coffee and I'm starting to see double.
I'm still sore (sadly) from weed whacking my tiny yard the other day. Guess that's not a good sign.
Margaret is here tonight...we're maybe gonna walk to visit some friends tomorrow - we're going over for a cook out. It's about three and a half miles down "my" road. I'd like that!
Bettas are by far the best, easiest and nicest-looking fish to get! Not to mention, inexpensive to buy! :-)
Like goldfish, the don't need a filter, etc. Just a small bowl and change the water once a week. They are hardy fish too. They don't die easy like goldfish do. Their only drawback is they must be kept separate or they will fight to the death.
I started with Bettas, then got a 10 gallon, then a 20 gallon and I soon regretted it because it's a LOT of work to keep freshwater fish. I'm back to Bettas. I have four.
Mmmm, brownie sundae. . .I was good and skipped dessert--have some poppy seed pound cake--but I'm tempted to go have some later. . .
Well, sticklebats!
Guess we'll have to find something else to watch, then.
Ooh, was gonna tell you...on the way home a car passed us that had a really cool sticker...a Euro (one of those oval ones) that had a little US flag on it then a big "W" and a little '04. Simple, to the point, and very neat. I want!
Have you ever tried saltwater and/or tropical fish? How are they to take care of?
What a nice plan! Exercise and dinner both!
One of my sisters and I are planning an expedition to town tomorrow afternoon, to look for costume materials. The other sister is working at a theater, and on Friday we want to show up for Harry Potter in costume. I can wear my graduation gown, but the bothers need costumage.
Sometimes we're evil to each other. Heh.
I'd like to stay up late tonight but I'm not going to make it much longer, although my writing is coming swimmingly.
I've been watching the Indiana Jones series on USA, but I think it's about over.
Never tried saltwater, but I imagine it's the same or more difficult as freshwater/tropical fish. I had Mollies, Swordtails, Platys, Neon Tetras, Fancy Guppies and a few Cory Catfish.
Most were livebearers, so I ended up with a bunch of baby fish (fry) and bought the 20 gallon to keep the adults in and the 10 was for babies. It was insane trying to keep those tanks clean and I spent a bunch of money in maintaining them (filters, chemicals, etc.)
I think fishtanks are terrific and will definitely have one again one day, but not until my girls are older and I have more time on my hands (and more money).
It sounds like your alcohol tolerance is about as high as mine :) I get loosened up from like 1-2 beers. What lifts did you overdo?--what muscles are sore?
It's eleven o'clock, so I'm gonna hit the hay. I hope the weather stays nice, because I plan on heading over to trini's for a pool party tomorrow! :-)
Talk to you all then and have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Mostly just hitting the same muscles, but in interesting new ways.
Ok, so that's close to 3500 words today. I'm going to finish this scene and go to bed. Good night, all!
Congrats on the 3500 words! Have a great night! :)
