Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Cool sister is already Kenshin-gumi!That's what I thought, so I figured she'd be watching it again :) I want to watch it again!!!--I miss watching Kenshin already :)
8,000 words?--wow!!! Good going! Can't wait to see what you've come up with! My manuscript is about 40,000 words and it's 100 pages right now--is that what you're aiming for?
I know what you mean about needing to start writing again--I've been kind of hung up there myself the past few months, though it's starting to pass (it comes and goes in cycles). Sometimes when that happens I will write a short story to help me get writing again without creating something I need to scrap later. I hate rewriting--grrr. . .

My novel's going to be at least 80k before it's done. Have written 1400 words tonight, so if I can get another thousand or so in, I'll be golden.
Fortunately I think the stuff I've written tonight will be keep-able. It actually has some action in amongst the intermidable conversations.

LOL!--excellent :) BTW that "prequel" action scene you wrote to insert before Chapter 1 was really good. If you can include a number of action scenes like that you'll be doing well.

RELAXING!! *grin*
I got a lot done today. After church I cleaned out my 20 gallon and 10 gallon fish tanks so I can sell them. I also managed to bathe my dog, watered the yard, went grocery shopping, cleaned my room and did two loads of laundry.
So, I've got that wonderful I-got-so-much-done-today feeling that leads to the ultimate relaxation status.

Relaxing is so much better after you've got the chores done :) Unfortunately I'm still doing mine, so my "relaxing" is being deferred until tomorrow, at least, LOL! I'm kind of half-watching
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade right now while I keep up with FR and work on an article.
Are you getting rid of your fish along with the tanks?

Well, our quick NH moot is over. We had desserts at Applebees and then talked for quite a while at the table before the waitress started to give us hints that we needed to get going...then talked for a lonnnggg time in the parking lot after that. Suzi got some pictures of the rest of the gang playing music (I didn't have my mandolin or banjo with me...*snif*), and also of Van-sama. She had a longer drive, so we'll have to wait for those pics, but here are a few for now...

First one from earlier in the day - Bilbo Bagpipes complete with kilt, watching Stephen play. Margaret is next to him, and their friend Graham is sitting on the right.

And at Applebees - left to right Margaret, Bilbo, Stephen and Jim.

And, of course, Suzi and me!

Yawn... met my word goal for the night. I'm going to try for a little more. I had a lemon drop (adult beverage involving lemons and vodka) and am getting tired, so not sure how it'll work out.
Uncool sister disappered with my Kenshin disks some hours ago. I doubt I'll see her again until Tuesday.

All my freshwater fish died for no apparent reason one night. And it is was right after I had prayed asking God to remove any unnecessary stress from my life too! ( cue Twilight Zone music )
I really enjoyed them, but I'll just stick to my 4 remaining Bettas for now! *grin*

If she comes back and her eyes look like Kenshin's after Kaoru hits him on the head, you'll know she overdid it :) BTW when you watch that proto-anime I sent you, you'll notice some of the same funny faces as in Kenshin :)
Hmmm, never tried a lemon drop. How is it?

Nice pictures! Must be nice being able to get together and play music like that. I've rarely been around people I could do that with--only at church camp and when talking to this friend of mine who plays bass guitar, I think. We made up a song about The Hobbit at church camp once--that was fun :)
