Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm not gonna miss the guy either. Just sorry they didn't get him (at least arrest him) sooner.

Way too many impressionable kids in our neighborhood.

Ooohhh... who might be at the jam?

Well, mostly I just mean that the type of music we play and the quality varies widely depending on just who shows up. Some weeks are WONDERFUL, and everything clicks and it's fun to play and listen; some weeks all the wrong players show up and it's dreadful. Last week wasn't so hot...lotta people playing the WRONG CHORDS, VERY, VERY LOUDLY.

And in the audience department, there's yet another guy I think is kinda cute but know nothing about. Hm...can that be an acronym? Only thing I know so far is that he's the second cousin of my best friend growin' up, but around here, that isn't too surprising. And it probably means he's about as far from religous (of any kind) as you can get.

It's like you said here, Corin. We can buy beer and wine at the grocery, but nothing else. Threw me for a loop when in FL they had Irish Cream (the real stuff, not a flavoring) sitting right alongside the ice cream syrups and all.

Sigh... cute but the wrong religion, or areligious... not good, but you can look a little, maybe.

Again I'll suggest that you really ought to consider moving to a state with fewer liberals. Or gay couples.

I can take pictures out the wazoo. I want to be able to remember the emotions. ;-)

Don't worry, Dad, the pictures will prompt the memories.

Um...this part of the state is about as far from liberal as you get in this country. Most people are conservative or approaching libertarian. And the jam is in NH...I'm right on the border, you know.

The problem is that there aren't all that many young Catholic guys, other than my brothers. But I have a feeling that's pretty true everywhere.

I'll stay here until I am given an obvious pointer that I should be elsewhere, which hasn't happened yet.

And I got carded. ;-)

David's Driver's License came up for renewal before he turned 21, so when his birthday came along, he still had a big 'UNDER 21' in red on it. One of the things I did for him was order a replacement after his birthday so it wouldn't have the note on it. He was pleased.

Yeah, wife and neighbors have been trying to figure out who it is. May not be who they originally thought. I dunno.

Mine has an "under 21 until" bar. It's not too annoying and I'll get a new license when I move.

We are home! All is well... so far. I have not even attempted to catch up on the threads. I am restricted to going up and down stairs to the minimum. So, I am making this trip up the stairs count :-) I don't know if PE gave all the specs for Abigail, I am guessing he did, but I will add them anyway. She was supopsed to be induced, but the induction failed. After some deliberation we decided to go ahead with a c-section. The incision is a bit tender, but otherwise healing very well (egads, he stapled me together!).

Abigail Elizabeth Anne, born Tuesday 5/11/2004 at 4:15pm, weighing 9 lbs 5 oz, 20 inches long. (Head full of hair!)

All 10 fingers and all 10 toes present and accounted for.

Uh oh, "..I hear baby cry.... where there is baby, there are milk nearby..." (Siamese cats, Lady and the Tramp)

Time for more pain pills if I am going to do some walking. Later.

Glad to see you around! Hope you feel less sore soon! And again, congratulations! She's a darling...I'm looking forward to more pictures as the weeks go on.
