Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yes, it's true -- we're D-17,18.
We probably couldn't have done any better had we actually bought them together as a block! Well, now, this'll make a big night of it! I guess our logistics are about as easy as they get.

Do tell more about this "song memorization." It may be something we want to do with Luke.* As much as I love the praise and worship, I also love the old hymns. I think we can and should do both.
Then again, the youth choir lead worship last week and did mostly hymns (with a beat, of course).
It also disturbs me that congregations no longer seem to know how to sing the parts on hymns. It's a bit of a personal crusade to reverse some of that.
* We haven't made an "official" decision, but we're really leanding towards homeschool for him. He's ready to read now.

I'm back from NM, and working on 3 hours sleep. The next three weeks will be, as they say so indelicately in the Army, "balls to the wall." At least I'll get to work on my tan out there. :) Wow.... that sounds exactly like what I usually have to say about my typical bike trip! LOL
I hope you do get to enjoy NM at least a little. Does it kinda remind you of home a bit? I sure wouldn't mind a little New Mexican vacation about now. Perfect time of the year. :-)

I am really excited about this! - As long as we put off buyin', we didn't deserve tickets, let alone to get it this good!

Good morning!
How go the wedding plans? Anything new - or nothing else to be done at present?
And how is Sonya feeling this week?

Oh oh... What'd you do to get sunburned? More fencing?
After last weekend's ride and day at the drag strip I came home pretty red on the arms, neck and face. But, it's faded now. Got a slight bit of peeling on the forehead but that's it. Guess I'd at least been out on enough short rides to get enough sun to keep from being a lobster!

Sonya is OK.... still adjusting to being a different person. She got a little mad at me earlier in the week about me not wanting to go shopping... all's normal there!

I dunno about tanning legs. Funny you should say that. As much as I'm in the sun, seems like my legs never have much tan. Some of that is attributed to bike riding and having legs covered while tanning on arms - but, I dunno... I don't think my legs are very capable of tanning. Yeah, they burn, but then they turn white again. LOL
I don't know of anything you need to be doing for wedding plans! :-) I would just be counting the days right now I think. LOL.... all the necesities are taken care of... groom - check, preacher - check.
I suppose you know pregnancy usually makes women even grumpier than they are by nature..... ah-hem.... so Sonya may be *more* interesting for the next several months. LOL
I gotta run for about an hour. Gots to do a stoopid PR visit to a local business. This is when I am glad my mom raised me as a good G.R.I.T.S. I would never get through this kind of stuff if I didn't know those rools. ugh... hate this stuff. But, a-PRing I go for now.
Back in an hour or so.

Good morning. Maybe.
At 4 am this morning, I had not yet been asleep for more than fifteen minutes. So I took nyquil. Of course, I crashed... managed to struggle my way to consciousness an hour ago.
I am so glad my job lets me do this now and then. Don't know why I couldn't sleep.

I'm sitting here at the kitchen counter, enjoying a cup of green tea and almond bread...got the screen door open and the birds are singing like crazy!I woke up with heart palpitations this morning. I'm convinced they're hormonal in advance of 'the change'. It can't come too soon as far as I'm concerned! ;o)

I suppose you know pregnancy usually makes women I think if they were prone to being impossible before, they feel carte-blanche to be worse.... Yeah - I can't wait!
