Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think I'm going to fit all of our company keyboards with a mechanism to send a good solid 220 volt shock out to anybody that ticks me off.

Wonderful idea!!! Honey, when you get this done will you share them with me for my classroom? :-D

And can I amend your final statement to say that some students just need killin'? To put them out of their own misery?

At least my calls weren't from people like that. 2 were from - you know. And one was from a friend with a flat tire and no way to get her kids to school... but still it was 6:30 and I coulda slept till 9!

I got a hundred dollars smokin in my billfold
I know I oughta save it but it's burnin' a hole
Right through my pocket and into my skin
Come Monday morning I'll be broke again

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

I got a little sugar baby down the road
She's sittin' on a radio and rockin' on roll
We'll dance up a storm and later all night
We'll be workin' on doin' all the wrong things right

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

Monday I'll be hurtin with my head in a vice
Tuesday I'll be wonderin' if I'll ever survive
Wednesday and Thursday I'll be slowly tunin' in
Friday I'll be revin' up my motor again

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

It's finally Friday
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll

Wheee! Good morning!

I'm back from NM, and working on 3 hours sleep. The next three weeks will be, as they say so indelicately in the Army, "balls to the wall." At least I'll get to work on my tan out there. :)

Good morning!

I'm sitting here at the kitchen counter, enjoying a cup of green tea and almond bread...got the screen door open and the birds are singing like crazy!

Jedis are still asleep.

I found a mocha custard recipe I'd like to see if I could edit, later on, after I'm out of the first phase. It calls for unsweetened baking chocolate...but doesn't look like there are that many carbs in that, especially once it's divided in servings. But I think cocoa and butter would be even fewer...if it would work. I'll let you know what happens! ;-)

What... do you mix it together and then put it in the micro and then on a bagel?

Hey...what kind of whistle do you play and what would you suggest? I played the flute in school and am looking to play something that won't take me forever to learn...my practice time right now is vey limited.

Also, what are the details of your churches "song memorization class" How many per month...what ages...who picks the songs...does it go on all year long? Anything you really like or dislike about it? I'm working on getting it started here.

Theboy celebrates his 6th birthday in about a week...wants a hunting/fishing party. Shoot at some targets eat a target cake...what could be easier to do and make! (thenewboy is also getting close to his bday...kinda make me sad...he's gettin so big)

Gnad is out lookin for this big...really big...tom we had in the back yard last night. :-) Like a little kid in a candy store he is. My parents will be here this Sat for a few days...bringing their chainsaw and sewing abilities.

Hope you're well.

This sounds good! IIRC, jalapanos are pretty low in carbs compared to like the bell...Steve loves them!

How bout Jalapeno poppers? (remove the seeds, this is where the heat comes from)

Cut off tops of J peppers (and keep them aside)
(about 4-6 cleaned out peppers) careful not to tear them.
Roast them in oven until they are soft....

Cook 3 slices bacon, crumble.
Mix with 2 tblsp Cream Cheese
2 oz Cheddar cheese

Allow peppers to cool and then stuff with mixture.
Replace tops onto peppers and heat in oven for about 15-20 minutes.

LOL No, I don't have it on a bagel! Steve and I have sworn off white flour and sugar. 'Sides, Walmart doesn't carry my harvest blend bagels anymore and if I can't have them, what difference does it make what I eat? LOL I'm just kidding.

I would suggest getting a Generation Soprano D whistle for your first whistle...or a Clark, which has a tapered bore...these are the most common "music store" whistles. For my first whistle, I got a Feadog kit, with a CD tutorial and a booklet to go with it and it was really good. Whole thing ran about $15, I got it on Ebay.

Let me get the CDs and such from church, if they still have them, for each level of learning the hymns...I think they start in 1st grade learning 10 hymns (pretty easy ones) and then eleven in 2nd grade, and Matthew had to learn 11 this year (third grade). Each year they get a little more involved...Matthew learned "Great is Thy Faithfulness" this year which really is pretty hard...not just common speech, you know?

Anyway, I'll get the CDs and send them to you. It's called "Hymns in my Heart"

I'll chip in with Bilbo's opinion, since he seems to be out wandering...

Get a Sweetone D. They're a little quieter than some, play easily, and they're cheap!

I like this kit:
http://www.thewhistleshop.com/catalog/whistles/inexpensive/Clarke/Celtic/celtic.htm

It's a little "fancier" than the standard Sweetone and has a booklet with it.

Heh....get one of both! To me the straight bores sound "brighter" and the tapered have a more "breathy" sound to 'em.
