Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner we may meet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

GOOD MORNING!

Today promises to be a little slower, and I'm thankful. I've missed y'all!

Good morning! I accidentally turned off the alarm clock and fell asleep again this morning. I pretty much made it to work on time, but no coffee and no breakfast. Luckily I have oatmeal here, but I'm thinking of a good excuse that will take me in the direction of the snackbar, where they have coffee...

Not sure how it happened, but yesterday, PE and I managed to do a tie-die wash, LOL. Everything in the wash has blue spots. Am rewashing as we speak. If the rewash doesn't work, I'm gettin out the bleach!

Or maybe you'll start a new fashion trend?

Ah...I got my coffee now, too. And talked to someone about our next gig...we're playing for commencement! While people are being seated, that is. Pretty cool, IMO.

Oops...scary post number.

Is coffee evil, or am I?

Commencement is a good gig! ~sip~

Neither you or the coffee is evil.... during that post, it was the coffee that carried you. ;~D

It pays better than anything I've had so far. I think even Bilbo (the professional and the pickiest of the group) will be OK with it.

I wish I had the money to pay you a fortune to come play for the wedding.... So much that Bilbo would forever remember that ~you~ got the biggest payin' gig the band ever had. ;~D

But alas.... I got about 50 bucks.... I s'pose that isn't gonna do it.

Not unless Fed-Ex has a good deal on overnight shipping...and we can find a really big box! ;-)

Morning everyone!

Just got finished paginating a study...yuk! I have to get all caught up so I can take a loooong lunch with Ruthy, OB, and LSA tomorrow.

Rosie...my sister informs me that she gets strange looks when she warms up for the orchestra playing "Sally Goodin". Hehehe

Heh...I'd like to see that! Some of the classical musician sorts are such snobs about other types of music...it's gotta really annoy them. ;-)

Did you see that we got another gig? We actually have THREE lined up right now. Whoa. One is a benefit, the other two are "real gigs", as Bilbo calls 'em.

See y'all tomorrow when I return from the 14th century.

Kewl!

My sister read your post about waiting for better gigs to come along and she sympathizes. Guess that's just how it is until you make a good reputation.

Heh....and when she's with the bluegrass guys they say "I knew you were one of them classical people." She hasn't done any jams lately 'cause she usually has playing gigs on that night. She's working on learning some grass and getting up to speed on 'em.
