Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner we may meet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

What are you taking for lunch tomorrow? I'm taking ham and this mustard sauce mom made for easter. It was really good.

Beef and peppers and onions again, but with a spicy sauce (lotsa cayenne pepper). Over rice.
Mmm...mustard.

Oh, that sounds really good. Sure you don't want to move to Colorado and room with me? You can cook... I'll do laundry (badly; I make white things pink).

My prayers for Celeste as well as Wes. Something like that is tough to deal with.
To: JenB
Hm...you do laundry? Might have to give this some real thought... ;-)
Ugh...it's after ten. I should probably at least attempt to sleep.

I have that book on the brain. It's a great book! :) What are you going to read next? I'm thinking I might reread 20,000 Leagues soon.
To: RosieCotton
I do laundry. Sort of. Well, I know the theory. I run loads now and then. I'm just still not convinced that you really have to have seperate loads for knits and delicates.

Mom used to separate darks and colors...I usually don't bother with that, either. Light colored stuff in one pile...colored (dark or middling) in another, and if it's delicate...I try not to buy it in the first place.
I've advanced enough that I often use fabric softener...but so far that's about as far as I go into "fancy" laundry doin'.

To: RosieCotton
Oooh, fabric softener, an advanced technique! You strike fear into the heart of laundry demons everywhere!
Sorry. I've been reading manga and plotting comics tonight. Not a good night for rational thought.

Personally, I'm better at making white things blue. I've done that a coupla times.
But I'm sure if I owned more red, I'd learn soon enough how to make things pink.
OK, gotta try to sleep now...though I'm still on caffeine and it's raining outside HARD, which always seems to mean the animals act nutsy...so whereas the dog (dogS right now) usually goes (go) to bed before I do, they're still racing around like maniacs.

Have a good night, Rosie! Hopefully the rain will help you fall asleep--it usually helps me.
To: JenB
Lots of it, yep.

The worst of it is hitting the western part of the state, but we're still getting...quite damp.

I'm baaack... sorry to drop off there for a while...
I struck up what turned out to be a very productive convo with a transient here at da waterin' hole. He's a good republican gentleman. he'd never heard of FR and we spent some good time expounding on the high points of the W admin and the war.
I think a new freeper was... or is about to be... born.

Speakung of laundry... Not sure how it happened, but yesterday, PE and I managed to do a tie-die wash, LOL. Everything in the wash has blue spots. Am rewashing as we speak. If the rewash doesn't work, I'm gettin out the bleach!
