AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1135) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 1, 2004 | All of Us

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

In the Criminal Party debates, Senator Kerry let loose this gem in response to a question "Is God on America's side [in the war on terror]": Well, God will -- look, I think -- I believe in God, but I don't believe, the way President Bush does, in invoking it all the time in that way. I think it is -- we pray that God is on our side, and we pray hard. And God has been on our side through most of our existence.

Senator Kerry is NOT sure whether God is on our side?

Aristide has fled Haiti, and rebel troops are positing themselves to move into the Capital. The head of the country's Supreme Court has taken over as President, as called for by Haiti's Constitution. The rebel leader has said that he acknowledges Alexandre as the head of the government.

A deal has been struck with Paksitan that would allow United States troops to operate in a part of that country where The Evil One is believed to be hiding.

The Return of the King wins 11 awards at the oscar, including Best Picture and Best Director.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

It sounds like you gave your daughter a day all of you will remember for a good many years. It was a lot of planning and coordination but don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

My stepson's wedding two years ago was one of the happiest days of my life and I smile whenever remembering that day. The amazing thing was that it was very formal, an evening wedding and reception at a country club, but we were all so relaxed - family, bride, groom, all of us.

The days leading up to the wedding were nail biters, but once the actual day came, we all just had a good time and laughed.

The best part of the day was my stepson, who I know loves me but hasn't said so since he was a teenager, danced with me a few times and told me he loved me. He had such kindness and love in his eyes that I get teared up just remembering hearing him tell me those words.

Memories are made of this...

HELP!!!! I am busily packing for my trip tomorrow AND the mail came with a letter from a LIBERAL friend and a newspaper article: "Scientists: Bush distorting work."

Now, I know this article has been going around forever and I know that most of the "noted scientists" quoted are certifiable NUTS, i.e. Paul Ehrlich. Also listed are David Baltimore, Lewis Branscomb, Gerald Fischbach, Neal Lane, Leon Lederman, Jane Lubchenco, Sherwood Rowland, Harold Varmus and ED Wilson.

Can you all point me to a site on the web where I can read some info to answer this delusional friend?

Oh duh! Packing makes me dumb ;-) The articlse says " a group of more than 60 top US scientists, including 20 Nobel laureates and several science advisors to past Republican presidents, yesterday accused the Bush administration of manipulating and censoring sciece for political purposes. Then it gets into the global warming thingy, condom use, WMD, bacteria floating in the air around hog farms, etc. The last sentence: William Schlensinger quote :The Bush administration's science policy is too politicized and deserves a "D".

I do swear I read this same article several years ago.

Her piano teacher just called....she was in her apartment, sound asleep........

What happened, I think, is that she ran out of some of her meds and didn't let me know soon enough and went a day or two w/o some of them...NOT GOOD. As of last night she has everything she needs but I think she may be having a "withdrawal" thing going on....one of the side effects of that is extreme drowsiness.

She was able to get up and answer the door............so I know she's okay. If she doesn't show up tomorrow her teacher will call me again.

The reason her teacher & I were both so concerned is that Em has been very good this year about getting to classes on time, etc. and today was like a huge flashback to the "problem" times of earlier years...

Thanks for the prayer & support.....

I hope she calls me later.......I won't feel totally relieved until I hear from her myself.........

I just did a search on FR and a few articles that didn't mention any specifics on the science. Freepers did an opensecrets search and said the scientists in question were quacks, contributed to the Democrats and that whenever anyone says "it's not political", we can be sure it's political.

Paul Erlich is a nut case who has been saying for years... the sky is falling, blah-blah-blah! I know these so called scientists are nut cases! I want something I can send back to her. These are the same people that want us to join Kyoto and naturally, they blame "us" for world pollution.

She is shouting global warming to me all the bloody time and I have had the pleasure of telling her that those of us who do not live in S CA, haven't seen many signs of global warming recently!

Well, it pretty much seems as if these folks have decided there isn't anything the Bush Administration can do right, so they have pretty much relegated themselves to irrelevence due to their lack of objectivity.

It's all Bush's fault

LOL! We should have bumper stickers made up with that motto, but we'd be mocking the complainers, if they were smart enough to realize it.

Catching up on some things around here. Really shouldn't be FReeping!

MozartLover, glad Em is pretty much okay, and that she has a caring piano teacher.

I'll let you know about that graduation ceremony down at FSH. I think the answer is "yes" but will get back to you....

After the last two winters--last year with some of the coldest temperatures in 50 years, and the year before with record snowfall amounts in the Washington area (there has NEVER been more snow recorded in Northern Virginia than in the 2002-2003 winter), I don't know where she's coming from either.

I cry at weddings. I cry when watching videos of weddings. I now know that I cry when I read descriptions of weddings. Sheesh.

The wedding sounds absolutely perfect, MM. I'm glad it went well.
