Well, you've pretty much proven my point. It appears to you to be indicative of a alien spacecraft, but that is only because you are predisposed to look for them. There is no substantial evidence to say that this pic has an alien craft in it. Thus any suggestion that it does comes only from the prejudgement that there is extraterrestrial intelligent life capable of building spacecraft that can exceed the speed of light (otherwise we'd get their communications signals first, right?). So in order to even begin to consider this speck to be an alien craft, I would have to believe at least three things, two of which shatter credulity, and the third which assumes the achievement of FTL drive.

Check these guys out... they seem right up your alley:
http://www.wave.net/upg/gate/

Truth be told, I can't find a lick of difference between what you are saying here and what they said then.

Hale-Bopp was supposed to be one of those "signs of the end-times" too. And a whole bunch of people killed themselves because they believed in this ridiculousness.

People for thousands of years have believed they were in the "end-times", that the various astrological and social phenomena they observed were unmistakable signs thereof. How is your belief any different than the erroneous beliefs of these poor fools from the past?

By the way, I should note to you that believing in alien intelligence and believing in Christianity are mutually exclusive.

great, fascinating subject . .

Agreed, and I believe in having an open mind on this subject. Anything is possible, and I can't wait for the Disclosure Project to be fully revealed.

ROFL... it IS a speck of dust on the camera hahahahaha

Actually, more like a dead pixel, but the effect is the same.

Okay, a dead pixel seems to be a reasonable explanation... though I was really really hoping for little green men to beam down to earth any day now and ressurect Jesus to initiate the end times!

THANKS.

No problem.

It is a good thing to remember that you cannot blow up a JPEG that big and expect to make out any evidence. The compression artifacts render it useless.

I guess "Professor" Hoagland never learned that. ;-)

Goodness!

Showing your ignorance again!

TM: Truth be told, I can't find a lick of difference between what you are saying here and what they said then.

Given your perceptual skills, data collection skills and analysis skills, why am I not surprised! Lots of discrimmination tasks to detect and use differences must be very difficult for you.

CASE IN POINT:

TM:Hale-Bopp was supposed to be one of those "signs of the end-times" too. And a whole bunch of people killed themselves because they believed in this ridiculousness.

Hale-Bopp--IN PSYCHOLOGICAL TERMS as well as in UFO puzzle pieces terms

WAS VASTLY different from anything I've said here. Sorry your discrimmination skills aren't up to the task to detect such differences. I feel no compulsion to try and help you improve them.

TM:People for thousands of years have believed they were in the "end-times", that the various astrological and social phenomena they observed were unmistakable signs thereof. How is your belief any different than the erroneous beliefs of these poor fools from the past?

As can be demonstrated on a list of prophecy sites . . . historical waves of concern about such have at most wrestled with what--4-12--rarely more than 4-8 factors which SEEMED SORT OF ON THE SURFACE WITH SOME MENTAL GYMNASTICS to conform to SOME FRACTIONAL PARTS OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY.

Our era has 100's upon 100's of data points conforming rather precisely to Biblical prophecies AND ALL THOSE AFTER ISRAEL BECAME A NATION AGAIN IN A DAY IN 1948--THE REAL BEGINNING OF THE END TIME PROPHECY CLOCK. But, if you care to ignore Christ's statements in Matthew about such--your loss.

TM:By the way, I should note to you that believing in alien intelligence and believing in Christianity are mutually exclusive.

Again, your ignorance is showing.

There's not a thing in The Bible precluding UFO's nor ET's. Some things can be construed to hint toward races elsewhere, even. Mostly, the Bible is just silent about it.

Now you can build all kinds of air castles on silence if you wish. But I don't consider it good Biblical exegesis NOR VERY LOGICAL NOR SCIENTIFIC.

Oh?

Did I read it wrong?

I thought it said it was a flaw in the CCD.

Ah well, details don't seem to matter much to your very scientific perceptiveness.

Oh hey, don't feel too bad. I was telepathically contacted by the the dog-men of Sirius who told me that this was an ingenous conspiracy by government agents to discredit the "I see aliens everywhere!" movement by inserting a carefully-crafted flying-saucer-with-the-standard-proportioned-bulge-on-top-shaped dead pixel into the camera.

(I'm sorry... but this is so funny I can't help myself!)

I have very mixed feelings about the Disclosure project being fully disclosed.

At that point, it will be in a list of ways, a point of no return.

Part of me cringes at the changes that will mean.

On the other hand, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

But most of me would like to help insure as many as possible meet and sign up with Him, first.

Thanks.

I still don't know what to make out about Hoadland.

I've read so much convincing stuff on both sides.

A slight part of me is inclined to think of the detractors as sounding more like disinformation. But God knows. I don't.

There's too much capacity for folks on all sides to jiggle the data at many steps along the way.

The rocks pic doesn't do anything for me. What's an anomoly in that?

The wisps of whatever against the black sky COULD be something but seems to me to likely not be.

Sorry, just my take.

Okay, so it's a dead pixel. That is a logical explanation supported by what appears to be conclusive evidence. It's still hilarious that some people see aliens in dead pixels.

It's that discrimmination skill thing.

SOME things are the SAME

and SOME things are, welllll,

DIFFERENT.

Not a rocket science level of understanding of reality. But one which some people are pretty sloppy about.
