The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I'm gonna be laughing at their pain. It's not Bakshi, after all.
X2 is much better than X-Men 1, though that film also has its moments.
And yeah, maybe so, but I'd really like to see the scale change.

My scale doesn't work. I got a cheap one awhile back...realllly cheap. It goes up and down ten pounds or so even if I just get off and back on, and according to it I weigh 20 pounds more than I think I POSSIBLY could, even in my most pessimistic mode.
I'm not sure I want one that works...
True, Bakshi would be far worse. But you KNOW they're gonna be singing the songs for weeks to come...

Yawn...g'mornin' all....er I mean good afternoon.
Been a busy dwarf. We have a men's choir singing tomorrow at church so I had that rehearsal this a.m., then got a haircut, went to the gym and then took Nana a sub sammich for lunch.
I need to check with my secretary, but I believe I have a nap scheduled for this afternoon.

It's been snowing!
Elf-boy in the driveway.
Our triple trunk live oak
A formerly triple, now double trunk, live oak. It doesn't like this load! The Charlie Brown Christmas tree is between the houses.
Happy running dog! She spent a couple of hours playing, in back, then with the neighbor's lab in front.
Our flat wax myrtle. My stealth radio antenna is an inch in diameter.

Anyone know of any Free webpages that support MPEG's?

Ohh, ok... AOL may indeed prevent mpeg's from being loaded, to limit the amount of bandwidth your webpage uses.
I believe the webhosting service that ecurbh uses is free, and allows mpeg's. Pinging him, because I can't remember the name of his webhosting service!

We usually have only one bout of icy/snowy weather a year --- but when we have it, it's a doozy!
Last year, we had an ice storm that kept techs at the Lazy E for two days and nights straight ... I'm told people slept on the floor under their desks and nearby restaurants catered food in somehow.

A small tattoo on the arm, "mail thief", and then transfer them to an infantry unit. Problem solved, and nobody else steals mail any more.Viciously creative! ;o)

That's one nice thing about being this far north - we really don't get all that many ice storms. Cold, yes...snow, yes...but it's usually too cold for freezing rain and the like. I think it's better that way!
To: JenB
You're doing fantastic, though!
ALMOST excited about starting week 2 on Monday. I wanna try my shoes!
But now...going to go make some very hearty vegetable soup - good thick stuff with lots of beef and lots of vegetables - and read some more Princess Bride!
To: RosieCotton
Yeah, I'm doing well. It just gets so boring.
Sigh... am making "[X] of doo-OOO-ooo-Ooommm" references here and of course no one gets any of them..

Think ecurbh would put in a more, I don't know, masculine Cupid for us lonely-hearts?

You know Rosie, that is what is really flooring me. We ALWAYS get the ice storms, but this time, he snow was dry and powdery. I am still in awe that we didn't get ~any~ ice this time around. Of xourse, yesterady on the way to take elf-boy to school, we ran into some ice cuz some idiot left his sprinklers on. The wholeroad was covered with a thin layer of ice that literally stopped all westbound traffic. S'posed to snow again tonight (cool!).
Roads are cleared, driveway cleared. It's 34 degrees and snow is melting slowly.
The last time I remember snow this nice in Dallas, was, umm, '75? '76? When we had enough good snow to make snow icecream. Yum! It was extra special cuz my granddaddy made it for us.
