The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You know... I went to a speech about [cough] twenty years ago by Vincent Bugliosi. He was the prosecutor in the Manson case. He told some absolutely creepy stories about Manson.
One of them was particularly good. He was interviewing Manson before the trial, and at one point it became this stare-down contest between the two of them across the table. No words, just staring into each other's eyes. It apparently went on for many minutes of silence...
Then Manson, without blinking says "Your watch just stopped."
Bugliosi carried a gold pocketwatch. He broke the staredown and pulled his watch from his pocket by the chain. It had indeed just stopped.
Bugliosi really left me with the impression that there is such a thing as pure evil in the world and a whole lot of it was incarnate in one C. Manson.

Yeah - I remember you telling that story before. I watched his last parole hearing on Court TV.... really scary guy.
To: HairOfTheDog
A Charles Manson parole hearing would be some pretty good comedy.
"You wanna *what*??? Bwaaahahhahhaha"

It's always the quiet ones.
Say... wait a minute... *we're* all pretty quiet now that I think about it.... uh oh...

Be afraid...be very afraid...

Just to get in on this manicure thing ...
When 'Tasha used to do my hands and feet, she would start me off with a self-heating finger soak of lotion and a self-heating foot pan of some kind of conditioning solution. Then she would give me a massage from fingertips to elbows. Then I got my cuticles trimmed back and my nails squared off and painted (I like polish, the flashier the better). Then she would start on my feet, and do the same --- ah, the foot and calf massages! Yes, 'Tasha rocked!
Of course, that sweet indulgence set me back $45 every month ... but it was durn clean fun!
I don't know that 'Tasha ever nicked me ... but I'm with Wneighbor ... you should have taken the teacher aside and pointed out his mistake! He's there to learn, hon, not to give you a nasty li'l infectable boo-boo!
Now you need to show us the haircut!

I don't got there for babes sweetie! Sure you do... only you'd be preferring the brawny chopper driving somewhat hairier sort. :-) I, on the other hand would be there for the bikini-wearin' "Hey mister can you take me for a ride?" sort.
It is part of the balance in all things.

"You wanna *what*??? Bwaaahahhahhaha"Basically.... and he knew he didn't have a shot, but in CA they have to give him a hearing... It "freed" him, not having a chance. He could say whatever the heck he wanted... he had a captive audience. ~insert popcorn smiley~
The women, on the other hand, think they have a chance. I actually might agree with one of them who presented a pretty good case that she was safe. Van Houten I think... Prolly would be but they weren't doin' it last time.

Be afraid...be very afraid... Woohoo!!! First one to the roof with a rifle wins!!!

That is true, toss in the regional variations, it can hard to please everyone. I've had a few in northern AZ and NM that were waaayy diff than anything from TX or elsewhere. Had some smoked chub chili in Wisconsin once, now that was different.

No fair...my roof is ice covered!
To: osagebowman
btw, you were right about the Newfie, Wasn't he gorgeous! - Wow, what a big teddy bear. 180 ~pound~ teddy bear!

I think barbecue (barbeque?) is still a more heated subject...at least in other parts of the country. People here call anything cooked outside "barbecued"...so doesn't apply here. ;-)
To: HairOfTheDog
None of them will ever get out, nor should they.
They did indescribably nasty things to totally random innocent people with very large knives. Ixnay on the Arolepay.
To: Ramius
Hate to disappoint you sweetie. But don't *go* for those babes either. :-)
Watchin' the bikes! Now, that's another story all together!
Guys you run into there.... no... not for me. Sorry.

To: HairOfTheDog
I'll just have to think of another way!
To: Ramius
You are right about what ~should~ happen.... they won't be getting out any time soon, but I predict the wimmin get out before they die of old age.

"And now tonight, on America's Funniest Home Snipers... our winner is somebody that didn't think to de-ice the roof first... roll the tape!"
