You know... I went to a speech about [cough] twenty years ago by Vincent Bugliosi. He was the prosecutor in the Manson case. He told some absolutely creepy stories about Manson.
One of them was particularly good. He was interviewing Manson before the trial, and at one point it became this stare-down contest between the two of them across the table. No words, just staring into each other's eyes. It apparently went on for many minutes of silence...
Then Manson, without blinking says "Your watch just stopped."
Bugliosi carried a gold pocketwatch. He broke the staredown and pulled his watch from his pocket by the chain. It had indeed just stopped.
Bugliosi really left me with the impression that there is such a thing as pure evil in the world and a whole lot of it was incarnate in one C. Manson.

Yeah - I remember you telling that story before. I watched his last parole hearing on Court TV.... really scary guy.
