The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Does any of this make a lick of sense?

Makes perfect sense! One of the reasons I loved sending to Tom so much is that I know what a generous guy he is. I knew he would give away that stuff and get such joy out of it!

Sorry about the sadness Sam, but it sounds like it was a great service. Appropriate for the fishing group. And I'm sure those waters are the best resting place for those ashes. ((Sam Cree))

Yeah, when I return the load of books I have right now, I'll look for them.

I used to be like that when I was bartending. We had live music every night. Got to know a lot of people that were popular around Austin back then. Willie dropped in from time to time.

So much for Flylady....just put catnip out for The Cat. Now there's nip all in the carpet.

I wrote Connie Willis's name down in my calendar so I can remember it next time I go. We're about halfway through Deepness. It is VEY interesting! Just finished reading Pham Trinli's recollections of his childhood! ;o)

Hehehe...

My bedroom is still marvelously de-cluttered! I refuse to get her emails - the house isn't my job anyway - but I do like her theories on getting rid of stuff you don't need.

Thanks! I'll have to check out the site when SSQ restores the sound card to my computer!

Yep, ol' Pham's a great character.

Willis' best book is Doomsday Book. To Say Nothing of the Dog and Passage are also very good books. And Bellwether was sweet and funny. But Doomsday Book... hits something like a nuclear bomb. And then you get the fallout.

My carpets are terrible. Even if I got the place Flylady neat I'd have the carpets looking bad. Need a vacumm cleaner but they broke.

Fortunately, dried catnip vaccuums well.

If your vaccums keep breaking, maybe you should just go with hardwood floors. :)

Well, not in some parts... LOL

I simmered some homemade spaghetti sauce all day today. MMMmm... It's good!

Well, if it needs a "little TLC", that will allow for years of deleting Flylady's emails without regret. Living in a reconstruction zoned domicile allows for minimal house cleaning 'cause ya always got a project in progress'. Though, I have to admit it is great when its done. :-)

Been thinkin' of pulling up the carpet in my den. There's hardwood under it. Don't know about the rest of the house.

Still better beware, tools often have a mind of their own and will take off at the blink of an eye.

The question I have with the "little TLC" thing is what needs fixing and how much is it going to cost.

Sounds like the kind of service Ernie would have wanted, as far as the trucks, that seems appropriate.

I have a trapshooting buddy that wants his ashes loaded up and shot off in a round of trap; his wife has said 'no way'. Seems if that's what he wants... but ashes over a fishing does seem more appropriate than mixing the ashes in with 1 oz. of No. 8 shot.

I just read in Forbes Magazine that scientists at Cornell University have ascertained that hot cocoa is very high in antidioxidents. I think that means it helps prevent cancer. I wonder if Swiss Miss is a good one?

Isn't Cornell in upstate NY?, in which case it makes sense that they were fooling around with cocoa.
