The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Some people hate the sight of Arabs doing dressage, but any breed can do it well. You just need to know the breed in order to judge whether the horse is doing well for that breed.

Your post got me to thinking about my friend who competed in dressage on her Pony of Americas. He is only about 14hh. None of the warmblood folk though she should be there either, but she had a good time showing him.

You're not gonna start up the true-nature-of-lembas debate again, are you?

Debate? Lembas is 'Nilla Wafers. There is no debate.

Good Morning All, a great walk, sunny mid 40's and nice breeze. Quiet little town, this a.m.

Finished wrapping a handle on a bow and making an arrow rest. Will need to test it later. :-) Couple of arrows need refletching, my BBO R'D (bamboo backed osage, reflex-deflex) may get a turn on the tillering tree. If the hickory pony bow holds tiller, I'll be staining and tung oiling it.

PE; lol, good one.

Suziq; that is seriesly cool. I'm sure Gimli will be a big help on the home improvement project. That is quite a job you and SSQ are taking on, 1500 sf is a good sized house much less an addition. Certainly a challenge, you are to be commended. Good Luck.

Yeah, there's just something about that miniskirt. LOL!

Sean Bean was one of my favorite actors long before LoTR, so I was thrilled when I found out he was in the movie. He's the reason I went BACK to see TTT Extended on the big screen just before RoTK cam out!

Doing this addition will mean I won't have as much time to Freep, but I'll post pictures from time to time. Our oldest son will be home during the summer except for the month of July when he'll be doing some studies in Paris (tough life, huh?). Our #2 son is going to be home this week and we'll see if we can talk him into foregoing research this summer in favor of manual labor. ;o) If all 6 of us are working on it, we may be able to get further along in the project than we had originally planned for this year. Joseph (our 14 yr. old) is dying to drive Gimli. He may get his chance later on today!

Oh Alkhin! By the time I got through with all the stuff I had to do last night I was afraid it was too late to call you. Didn't want to risk waking anybody up. Now, I see you *were* awake!

You know, I was thinking abotu lembas this morning after church. Soemthing about today's Holy Communion got me thinkin. When the Israelites were wandering in the desert, God gave them Manna to eat. It makes sense to me that Lembas is like Manna. I really don't know what Tolkien had in mind, but Lembas does do everything that Manna did for the Israelites. The only thing I can think of that comes close to my imagination of manna is pita bread.

Good Morning everybody!!!!!!

Happy Lord's Day!!!!!!

Peace, like a river, flows throught my heart today as I think of all Jesus has done for me and for everyone here.

I thank God for all He has done for us and I also thank Him for another beautiful day!

All right, this might not be an appropriate subject for a Sunday morning or afternoon.

I have lot's to say about my days fighting for the Rebublican cause here in a place were I'm vastly out numbered. But I find my strength and my courage in my faith and trust in God.

Note: I'm "reporting" from behind enemy lines, LOL!

Had an interesting encounter with two Democratic coworkers. Interesting and humorous!

It seems they believe all that Terry McAwful and Jean Kerry and thier ilk has said about President Bush! They really are out to lunch! HEH! HEH!

Well, I had some salvos to throw their way. One of them said she had a donkey pin that was red white and blue. (how patriotic!)

I told her that by November 3 that pin will be sooooo blue! LOL!

Let the games begin!

I wonder how friendly our discussions will be later on this year as the election progresses?

We shall see!

Last Sunday afternoon we had some young people campaigning for Ben Cardin, a local Democratic candidate running for US Congress

I wonder were the Republicans are?

But then this IS Maryland! SHEESH!

But I heard some good news for the GOP here

A fellow Conservative told me that in the past the National RNC had always been told not to bother with Maryland as it was solidly Democratic and any RNC campaigning was useless.

But since we now have a Republican Governor for the firs time in over thirty years. There is hope for Maryland Republican Candidates. AND Gov. Ehrlich is now saying please send money to fund the Maryland GOP party. WTG BOB!

Oh, I need to tell you this, when I was watching the President's speech to the Republican Governors. I saw Gov. Ehrlich standing on the stage with the likes of Gov. Schwartzenegger (sp?) Gov. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush as well as President Bush. For the first time I was proud of my state. I also had a feeling of pride in being from Maryland and seeing my state being counted among the Republicans and my Governor being greeted by the President what a time to be an American! I'll tell y'all something I've never told y'all before, Another reason why I firmly support President Bush is he brought back to me something that was missing for a very long time.

Pride in being an American! He brough back the dignaty and the strength of America and the American people, I guess that is why the left hates him so much! But I love him for what he has given back to me.

I am no longer ashamed to say I'm an American.

Now I hope this season of lent will have more meaning for me and brings me closer to God and to the realization of what Christ has done for me.

May God bless all who post and lurk on FreeRebublic.

May God bless and protect Jim Robinson,President Bush and Our Troops and God Bless America.

So, folks!

Till I can post again about the goings on in Baltimore and in Anne Arundle County(at least where I'm at)

I'm your roving Republican hobbit behind enemy lines and fighting the good fight!

Have a God Blessed Day!

I'll take ALL the blessings I can get Seamus! Thanks!

But, for this - it really *is* all of us.

This time I added something new to the customs forms. I dunno what the guys at the post office will think but I was listing the items and thought as I always do how this *stuff* cannot ever encompass the love in our hearts. So, included in the items I wrote LOTS OF LOVE. :-)
