Thank you for these songs.
I enjoyed both of them, but I liked "Down to My Last Teardrop" best.

Two Servicemen Missing in Action in Vietnam Identified
Two airmen missing in action from the Vietnam War have been identified
and returned to their families for burial. They are Maj. Richard W. Cooper, Jr., of
Salisbury, Md.; and Chief Master Sgt. Charlie S. Poole, of Gibsland, La.
On December 19, 1972, Cooper and Poole were crewmembers aboard a B-52D
Stratofortress bomber participating in the Linebacker II bombing of Hanoi, North
Vietnam. Cooper was the navigator and Poole was the aerial gunner. At the
completion of their bombing run, their bomber was struck by an enemy surface-to-air
missile and crashed about six miles southwest of Hanoi. No other aircraft on the
mission were able to establish emergency radio contact with the crew, and no
parachutes were sighted. There was no search and rescue attempt mounted due to
enemy control of the area.
It was subsequently learned that four of the crew had been captured and
were being held as prisoners of war. Upon their release in 1973, they reported that
Cooper had been unable to eject from the aircraft. Each of the surviving crewmen
reported having seen only three other parachutes, thus accounting for all four
survivors.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all the lovely shoes in the back of my closet. Save them for another time.

By Sgt. 1st Class Doug Sample, USA
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2003 - In August, the American Red Cross asked the public
for donations of phone cards, clothing, small suitcases, and comfort
items for service members recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical
Center here.
Now Barbara Green, the ARC station manager, says she has more phone
cards, sweat pants, and luggage than she can use.
In fact, thanks to a generous public, so many items were donated that
the Red Cross' storage room inside the hospital is filled to the brim,
and Green is politely asking the public to hold off until further
notice.
"We're not going to be able to give it all away," she said, adding that
one Army unit sent an Air Force C-130 "full of stuff."
The initial request came because many troops evacuated to the center
arrived with no personnel effects, she said. Now, Green said, her
concern now is what to do with all the donated items. She said it's
very important that she follows the donors' intent that the items go to
the soldiers, so what's now on hand will take care of their needs for
the foreseeable future.
"We need to wait awhile, to at least give us a chance to use what we
have before we take in any more items," she said. "We'll put the appeal
out again when the time comes," she said.
Green said that she appreciates the public's generosity, and that the
soldiers are "very thankful" for what the American public is doing.
"The soldiers are very well aware of the caring of the American public,
and they are very grateful," she said.

He didn't win last year because FTH took a couple of bribes suggestions from someone who has a lot of pull.
This is a good point.

Just A Child
A child it was,
small and helpless in a larger world,
watched over by a mother of grace and a father so proud,
and simple animals of the field.
Yet this child was at no risk,
for overhead waited the host of God,
a mighty army of Angels in homage,
to the Lamb, heart of all.
Kings three did come this night,
and kneeled before their tiny Master,
giving all that was themselves,
to that which had come to pass.
Gifts so rare of kingdoms ransom,
yet it was the hearts and souls that shone like gold,
filling that manger with the soft living light of worship,
giving all there blessings beyond wealth.
Stars led the way to a simple place,
in a land of strife and common life,
yet somehow this place was different,
holy as a temple, blessed beyond our ken.
What wonders has the world seen,
when Kings kneel to honor their better,
and common man finds a savior,
upon a chill and quiet night in a needy land.
We celebrate this moment,
with hearts open to Him,
knowing He has come to us,
and will someday again.
When that times comes to us,
remember those mighty Kings,
and bow to Him who leads us all,
upon that truly wondrous day.
For those who fear His presence,
and damn Him at every turn,
even they may find the way,
and reach out to a waiting friend.
There are those who doubt His being,
for reasons of their own,
yet each must stand before Him,
when each is called to home.
Christmas is for Christ,
Lord, and Son, and Host,
once a child in a manger,
and now King of Kings for us.

Just a child in a manger ..... King of Kings for us.
That is a beautiful Christmas poem and a wonderful reminder that Christmas isn't about all the gifts being exchanged. We all get caught up in the commercialism; we need to step back and remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
Thank you.
