Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Ugh, I know, it just takes more effort and I eat it a lot. Plus apparently you're not supposed to eat much tuna because of mercury, so there goes another good protein source.... I eat beef, chicken, pork, tuna, and shrimp. Occasionally I'll have an omelet, but man...

I've heard tuna is safe. It's other fish you have to be careful with.
I like eggs...I'm lucky there. 'Nother cheap protein source. Wish there were more.
To: RosieCotton
Yeah, especially since Atkins is the only diet that's ever worked for me. It's easy to eat cheap if you eat carbs... rice, noodles, that sort of thing.

I make a really good gumbo too. I use chicken sometimes, but not necessary. I put sausage, andouille if I can get it, shrimp, crab, and crawdad meats, and duck breast sliced if I have it. (gator, possum, feral hog..)
Never made a batch yet that didn't get et up quick.

Hehehe. Which is why I never click on a link posted here without checking it out first... and if it's an mp3 or .wav file, I have the headphones plugged in!

MP3s or movies could also be horrible things like the Bilbo movie or Frodo of the Nine Fingers. Doesn't hurt to check.
Someone is gonna rename one of those files one of these days and sneak it in...baaad things will happen to them.

D, er Tom, has wanted to learn japanese since he was a little 3rd grader. Always been fascinated with the culture. His little girlfriend speaks it.

Now, Japanese culture has some really neat bits and some really sick bits. I like to sort of take what's good. That's the American way.
Plus it almost seems the "in" thing among geeks these days is to speak a little Japanese.

Not the possum, but I've used gator tail before. I didn't get it, it was given to me. It was good. Not too swampy.
And feral hog we use all the time for gumbo or chili. Lot of the guys around here hunt for them. They're everywhere too. So we get a lot of meat from them.

Well, I really was multi-tasking here that night. The first real night back. And I was grading things while keeping up in the Hole. So, I wasn't thinking right.....
After listening to that file I kinda thought it woulda been good to have just let it play out for the students. But, the guy who really needed to hear it is in the Tuesday-Thursday class, and that was Monday. Thought about "accidentally" playing it last night but the guy has already complained that I am too scary and intimidating.

Gator is GOOD STUFF Maynard!
I put possum in the same category as chicken though. Too greasy.

BTW, meant to tell you yesterday, right after you mentioned the bumper bender yesterday, my daughter in Austin called me and said she'd had one too. Started to go at a stop, and then decided she couldn't go, then the car behind her didn't see her stop and plowed her rear bumper. She was slightly knocked around but ok. and the damage was minor. Very luckily and thank God, she was almost pushed into on-coming fast moving traffic.

Your soup sounds really good.... cept for the chicken stock.
I would have used beef broth if I'd had it. All I had was chicken. :)
