Oh well. She apologized, which was good. I wasn't mad yet, just sort of freaked out, and her apology kept me from really getting mad. Even when I saw the hole in my bumper and the dark scrape on my lovely red paint.
Leaving here in twenty minutes, we want to get out before rush hour hits...

Flying out tomorrow at 5:30 pm. The plan is to head over to Chapel Hill around 10:00 am and meet Real Estate Lady. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow with highs in the 40's. The report is that the main highways are pretty much cleared. I'm hoping that it'll be thawed enough to make the 2 miles between the highway and my house.

That's good to know. I'm not thinking I'll be at the office tomorrow. At least not until mid-morning....

Look what I got! Cost me Five Buckarooskis at the thrift store! An old Sears Coldspot! It's a little rusty in spots on the outside of the cylinder, but should easily be cleaned up...(any suggestions?) The inside of the cylinder is spotless and appears to be patent, I have it filled with water right now and no leaks are seen!
The whole thing is dusty and needs a good scrubbin'...but it's really in good shape, otherwise.

I get the uneasy feeling that there's a warehouse in Kuwait with 50,000 radios, but nobody knows they're there. And if they did know, there's no paperwork to authorize their release. I still remember the last scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I've not seen "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" but I do remember going into an armory in Washington D.C., about 1967 and seeing cases and cases of brand new M1A1 rifles still packed in cosomoline and 1909-A303s-bolt action 30cal rifles by the hundreds if not thousands. These were WW2 and prior weapons that had never been uncrated. They are most likely still there.
Government waste and inefficency knows no bounds. That any of our troops have to operate with donated equipment is outrageous.
One other time before when I was outraged over a matter I wrote to every congressman and senator I could think of and got personal replies from only two of them. One was the former Senator Jean Carnahan (D-Mo) and Rep Ray Lahood (R-Ill) The others either replied with a form letter or ignored me completely.
Ray Lahood is the Congressman in my district and for whatever it's worth, he will be hearing from me again.

Use a wire brush on the rust spots to clean them up, then spray a little Rust-o-leum on it, maybe?
