It's a little rusty in spots on the outside of the cylinder, but should easily be cleaned up...(any suggestions?)

Sandpaper.

Ok...sandpaper and a small wire brush, then some rustoleum...I think that would really make it function like brand new.

I'm pleased as can be about it. I don't think I'm really all that much into retro...I just like the idea of being able to have my ice cream and eat it too, even if the electricity goes out! LOL There are brand new crank models you can buy...cost an ever-lovin' fortune...like $200!
