I get the uneasy feeling that there's a warehouse in Kuwait with 50,000 radios, but nobody knows they're there. And if they did know, there's no paperwork to authorize their release. I still remember the last scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

I've not seen "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" but I do remember going into an armory in Washington D.C., about 1967 and seeing cases and cases of brand new M1A1 rifles still packed in cosomoline and 1909-A303s-bolt action 30cal rifles by the hundreds if not thousands. These were WW2 and prior weapons that had never been uncrated. They are most likely still there.

Government waste and inefficency knows no bounds. That any of our troops have to operate with donated equipment is outrageous.

One other time before when I was outraged over a matter I wrote to every congressman and senator I could think of and got personal replies from only two of them. One was the former Senator Jean Carnahan (D-Mo) and Rep Ray Lahood (R-Ill) The others either replied with a form letter or ignored me completely.

Ray Lahood is the Congressman in my district and for whatever it's worth, he will be hearing from me again.

Over the course of the last few years, I've noticed a gradual dwindling of response from my state senators and congressmen, no matter how many times, or in which manner I contact them. Even the ones I've voted for, and whose campaigns I've donated to.

No longer.

They no longer fear/respect/value their constituents...and that's not a good thing.

Put your mind at ease. The klintons used our tax money to pay $12 apiece to have those weapons destroyed. After all, they were "getting guns off the street". They certainly didn't want to sell them to American taxpayers (who paid for them in the first place) for a couple hundred bucks apiece, when they could pay someone $12 apiece to destroy them. Meanwhile, they gave M-16s to hick police departments everywhere, where the local bubbas have a hard time mastering a 9mm.

Meanwhile, I've ordered three pair of Motorola T5720s in the name of the Hobbit Hole, to ship to Steve's unit. I should have them Thursday, and back into the mail Friday. I'll probably use an electric engraver to put a "HH" on them, just to tell them apart from the others.

We'll have a contest later on how to make life miserable for Audiovox.
