The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I got rearended. My car needs a new bumper. I'm thinking of calling it "Corin".

The bumper or the car?

Sorry about the accident...that's a bummer. Especially since you weren't the one who was driving like a knucklehead and hit someone. People follow wayyy too close in any weather, IMO, and when the roads are slick...

Is there a John Travolta movie of the same name?

Yep, but I never saw it. The previews looked like it was prolly a stinker.

AH! So, Corin's given name is Battlefield Earth?

Sigh... I have called my insurance. Apparently I should have gotten this girl's drivers license info. I don't know these things.

The snow keeps falling. Not sure I'll be getting home... well, I'll let Dad drive, he's here now...

Anyway, I just keep reminding myself this is not a Corin Day. At least not yet. It helps.

I've been playing URU in the evenings. I likes it a lottts. It reminds me of a mix between Tomb Raider and the first Myst. I enjoyed the first 4 tombraiders very much. You know, there were some really awesome times in TombRaider where you would be struggling for days in some dank dark hole in a mountain, just to reach a spot where you would push one simple button that collapsed the whole mountain down and away from you, revealing an open and beautiful landscape as far as you could see that was just awesome; and you, left there perched like a bird on the apex, to take in all of it. Then that music cues and lets you have the moment, just perfect.

LOL...Jess got me this old-school arcade-style controller box thingy that plugs into the TV's a/v input, and lets you play a whole bunch of the old arcade games. Donkey Kong, Kung Fu, Dig Dug, Pac-Man, Centipede, Galaga, etc...it's quite a trip.

"Mario" Speedwagon rules!

Sorry to hear about your car.

Hmm... how's your neck feel? Any stiffness or soreness? Shooting pains down your arms, perhaps?

Work it right, and you won't have to worry about paying for grad school...

I'm just kidding...

Sorry about your accident, Jen. At least your insurance will cover it?

When Rose and I were up in Michigan taking a first stab at cleaning my junk out of my Mom's house, I found my old Atari 2600 game console, with a stack of the games. My favorite was "Defender".

For actual arcade games, the one I was best at was "Space Invaders".

There were six of us with that name in my high school graduating class of 150.

I've met ONE another guy with my name. He was also 30 years older than me.

Oh man! *mad jealousy ensues*

I was thinking about buying a surplus one on-line, there's a web site that has scores of them.

About a year ago, I downloaded "NESticle", which is a program that lets you play old NES games. I literally stayed up all night playing 'Legend of Zelda' and 'Bionic Commando'...it was awesome.

Oh, her insurance will cover it. I got her insurance info, and name, and phone number. The problem is finding a week when I can borrow someone else's car to get around in.

I've actually never met anyone with your name. My brother Seth has that for his middle name, though.

On the topic of names, no one ever name your son Seth. I've know eight of them, and they're all wild men. Good kids, smart, but run their moms ragged.

I'm actually quite curious to see if it still works. I also need to check to see what kind of price I might be able to get for it on eBay...

Hi there!!!

I just consumed an entire Adkins Diet Chocolate Delight Shake that my mom got, but didn't like, so she gave it to me. (I'll take ANY food item, if it's free.)

It was revolting.

I need a couple of fried eggs with some cheese and hotsauce.

Would you still be able to even hook it up to a contemporary tv?
