Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Guess what happened on the way back from class? After two inches of snow had fallen?
I got rearended. My car needs a new bumper. I'm thinking of calling it "Corin".
Fortunately, my afternoon class is cancelled.

I have ordered and should get soon "The Incredible Adventures of Wallace and Grommit"...it's next on my queue.
We ordered The Journey of Natty Gann and was appalled. It was rated G yet said the G-D word clear as day! Thank goodness Steve and I were checking it out first...

apparently I was the only one who "got it".OK, I'll admit I'm dense and didn't get the joke. Is it supposed to have a double meaning with the British accented 'Shawn' also sounding like how they'd say 'shorn'?

I could tell you but then I'd have to slay you with a bolt of lightning. (Michael).

Oops, not the "B" I was thinking of. I get it now.
To: RosieCotton
There were six of us with that name in my high school graduating class of 150.

My car needs a new bumper. I'm thinking of calling it "Corin". There's nothing wrong with my bumper.
Although my car needs front and rear brakes. (And I tried to tell them that last time).
To: Corin Stormhands
Just that this is the second issue with my car, neither my fault, that will result in its being in the shop for a week. And that I've had the car for eight weeks.
Somehow it reminded me of you.

*sigh*... how much $ do I need tuh send yuh?...The best price from a reputable dealer is $43 per pair for the Motorola T5720 (AA model). The T5920 is about $25 per pair more. It's rechargeable (actually, I think they all can either use batteries or a rechargeable battery pack). The T5920 has 99 "privacy codes" per channel, as opposed to 22 for the other model It also has a "vibrate" model for paging another unit.
I don't have enough expertise in this area to know if the extra money is worth the price. These guys are Reserve, so they may never see the latest commo gear. It breaks my heart that they're buying civilian non-secure radios, but they're the troops on the ground, and have decided it helps their survival, as opposed to no radios at all.
Steve said the Motorolas are only used when away from the trucks, which have donated CB radios {shudder}. What is the best thing we can do for these troops? Money is no object for buying 3 pairs of these radios, even for me. But I'd like to have a clean conscience, knowing I was doing the right thing by the troops.

Somehow it reminded me of you. I'm flattered. Really, I am. ;-)
Sorry about your car tho. That's really a pain.

Is there a John Travolta movie of the same name?Yep, but I never saw it. The previews looked like it was prolly a stinker.
To: SuziQ
I saw part of it (against my will) on a plane flying to or from Germany.
Stinker doesn't even begin to describe it.

Sticklebats...Rasputin just came in and asked me to cover a meeting at 4:00 p.m. Likely to last a while too...grrrr...All because his staff didn't show today and the Deputy Trolls says to ask me.
It's a flippin' waste of time.
Sigh...

Speaking of names that sound like other things... when I was a freshman in college, my roommate and another buddy and I went out for a late-night snack one evening, and he wound up playing a Donkey Kong video game at the fast food joint. I was watching him play, when I asked what the name of the little character was. My roommate answered "Mario". For some reason I then asked, "Does he have a last name?" and my roommate responded without hesitation, "Yeah, Speedwagon."
Took me a while to figure that one out.
