Oh, her insurance will cover it. I got her insurance info, and name, and phone number. The problem is finding a week when I can borrow someone else's car to get around in.

Sorry, I read above that you hadn't gotten her insurance info. Check with your policy to see if you have a rental car provision. Then have your company check with hers. They should have to pay to provide you a car while yours is being repaired.

I'm convinced that life would be a lot simpler if we all just stuck to horses and buggies.

Yeah, they oughta give you a rental car! I had a city dump truck back over me once, came clear up my hood of my car and the back end of it stopped just like 3 inches from my windowshield.

I was on my way home from a Republican Women's meeting and I had on a sweater dress and a pair of black stiletto heels...this was back in the early 80s. I remember jumping out of my car and stomping over to the driver (after stopping traffic in all directions to use as witnesses) and POUNDING on his door, yelling at him to "Get out! Get out!" He wouldn't get out! He had scared me terribly...had my car not caught up under his truck, his tailgate would have come right through my windshield.

Anyway, I was pretty mad, to say the least.

So I go to the rental place and they tell me, quite rationally, that the city would pay for the rental, but I had to pay the deposit which I would get back. Well, I would hear none of it. I told them to make the city pay the deposit and they tried to reason with me which was impossible at this point.

I said, "I'll just sit over there till you get this all worked out and I get my car." I went and sat down in a chair facing them. They kept talking on the phone and looking at me in this perplexed way...until finally they came up to me and said "They're bringing your car around."

"Thank you." I said.
