It's awfully hard to find Thanksgiving carols. Is there such a thing? LOL I'll put up some country in a bit.

Hi Amy and friends!

OESY and Billie, your clever commentary on the redecorating of the P&P is a hard act to follow. So, I will just say 'ditto' to what both of you said. ;-)

Love the new look Amy!

Well, as far as racket goes, I can't possibly be doing my skull any good by listening to music from bands like "Orgy" and "Powerman5000".
*chuckle*
Decorating?
Ah yes..

Just be aware, when the thread is dead the furniture comes to LIFE.
Be careful what you decorate with as you just might need to run from it when it animates on you.
(Small joke from Dimensional Doors thread)

Welcome to Amy's Place...

Like what you've done with the place, Amy.

Here's a little contribution for the Potpourri...

True story - Happened here in Modesto last week.

A man walked into a local bank wearing a pink shirt, a black and white checkered piece of flannel over his face held in place with his ball cap. He walked up to one of the teller's windows and demanded money. As he was making his getaway, he had a little trouble negotiating he way out of the bank. Seems he forgot to cut eye holes in his 'mask' and had to raise the flannel to watch where he was headed. He didn't raise it high enough as he approached the door. He pushed on the hinge side of the door, his momentum caused him to crash into the doorjam knocking off his ballcap. With his 'mask' still in place he made his getaway.

After his mug shot appeared in the newspaper and on television, an alert citizen recognized him a few days later, called the cops and he was arrested.

Along with bank robbery charges, it is not yet known if he will be charged with gross stupidity as well. :)

The Little Pilgrim

Cranberries dripping down my chin
Have stained my pilgrim suit.
I ate too much Thanksgiving day
But I don't give a hoot.

I slurped a pile of dressing,
Gobbled down a turkey thigh,
Dribbled messy cranberries
Devoured some pumpkin pie.

Within me on this special day
It's a thankful heart that beats.
For all the things that I enjoy
But mainly for the eats.

Glad you approve of the pre-Christmas selection. Christmas music is too beautiful to only hear 4 weeks out of the year. My favorite album is the Charlie Brown Christmas. I love the jazz in it.

I got lucky and just ran across a tune called "Poets and Angels". It's suitable for today. :)

Recess is over for me. I can't seem to get up from here. LOL Help!

Need to make a run to grocery store.

Keep wood in the fireplace and cd's in the player. Help yourself to coffee .. if coffee gets low, call on Meekie or The Mayor.

Make yourselves at home; I'll be back soon!!

No, no, I insist I did wrong, but taking into account your kind words, I feel much better, even relieved.
I know cheerleading can sometimes be a chore, but I had only the best of intentions.

Nevertheless, to acknowledge you gracious invitation to revisit Poetry & Poopourri,
I wish to pledge that I will never again foul my future footpaths to Amy's Place.
When I have new material to dump, writer's block or not, I shall certainly give it
a thorough outing before depositing. Now, let me try to redeem myself with another posting.

Third Beach (a Poem)
Anonymous
Mar 28, 2003, 1:57pm (approximately)

Thank you, Third Beach,
For the sandy roads to the beach,
For the wild land behind the beach,
Where twice I saw a mink disappear into the tall beach grass,
For sailboats moored offshore,
For the distant view of the Little Compton shore,
For the great fieldstone chimney,
Ruin from a long-ago hurricane
For the fragrance of the sea and heat of the sand,
For swimming a long time in quiet clear water,
For walks along the beach at the water's edge,
Where the receding tide has left the sand hard,
For the discoveries in the sand, tiny skeletons, beach glass, shells,
For the encounters with friendly walkers;
For fording the always fast-flowing stream,
On the way to "Crabtown" where, long ago, my children played;
Now I observe other children at play
In the warm tidal pool with its hermit crabs, sometimes starfish,
For all this joy and solace,
Thank you, Third Beach.*

I sure wish that wolfie had been able to be here for the unveiling of the new design. I know he misses us as much as we miss him. It just isn't quite the same around here without him. :-(

If the thread gets dead for a bit, you'll find the couch sitting on me with it's feet up.

Tchaikovsky? I'm sorry, because I'm taking back my no racket promise. LOL I just found this song and wasn't going to play it but the temptation is too great. Don't tell Amy.

I may have a headache, but it's largely due to one too many shots to the head when I was younger.. and a few much more recently, but it's no reason to not have racket.
By and large I've had to learn to live with it, so CRANK IT UP.. (Does 'metal head' and motions and old school headbanger bounce.)
