.................................................................
The Poetry Branch has been in limbo since the prior hostess left FreeRepublic April 15th 2003. We've since learned that said hostess has lost her posting privilege. That being the case, and Jim Robinson having given his ok, I wanted to renew the thread.
FreeRepublic is blessed with many fine poets, and we look forward to seeing their poems posted on FR once again. There were many non-poet FReepers who visited the Poetry Branch for the camaraderie; we hope they will return.
I would like to invite everyone to visit and relax at Poetry and Potpourri. Hopefully you will renew old acquaintances for chatting, sharing jokes, telling stories, posting cartoons, etc. Everyone needs a place to escape from the everyday news, make Poetry and Potpourri that place.

What a nice poem, Destructor. Er...good try. An 'A' for effort. *said with a grin*
I forgot to answer you back. No, I didn't go to U.T., so the Michal you knew was someone else. Sorry. My parents would have killed me if I had gone there. Aggies on Mom's side and Cowboys on Dad's.

Meek, remember this song? We're getting oooolllldddd!!!!! Waaaaa...
Victoria, where are you?

Everyday is Halloween around here. HA! LOL, you bet!
Evening everyone.
Winter Bliss
Get out your shovels winter is here,
once again snow storms appear,
causing us to slip and slide
making our cars collide.
Daylight hours I hardly see,
except on weekends when I'm free.
Driving to work is something I dread,
if I check the weather I'm often mislead.
Heating bills climb so high,
and the cold weather keeps me inside.
My skin is chapped and dry always,
my skin gets itchy -- it ruins my days.
Heaps of snow piling on the ground,
it's too cold to move around.
Oh, the joys of winter bliss,
it's one season I'd rather miss.

Yep! Pretty much. Still need to go get a pumpkin. Got our pillow cases ready for all that candy. I made Ally's costume. She's a 50's girl with a poodle skirt. Jonah is just a super hero with a sword. Can't imagine him going without a weapon of some sort.
What are you doing tomorrow night?

LOL Whew! So I'm not banned? I haven't heard that song in years and years. My friend and I went to the grocery store the other night and heard it. We were like kids again. I'll be sure to play lots of "old lady" music for you.
Put your son on. Does he FReep?
Can we indulge every once in awhile in "racket", as my mother would call it? LOL

My son is a lurker. I'll have to ask him if he ever reads this thread. I think he reads the news and info threads. Probably wonders what his Mom is up to now. LOL

Forgot to answer you ... yes you can indulge in racket once in awhile. LOL

Ask Allie what she thinks of this black cat skirt.
Couldn't find a poodle skirt for Halloween. LOL

Ohhhhhh.....she'll love it. Did I ever tell you I collect those old, vintage postcards? Halloween ones are the hardest to find and most expensive.
Ally loves black cats. I'll get her in here to see it.

I like old post cards and old greeting cards.
I saved this last week and couldn't resist posting it tonight after reading about Ally's poodle skirt.
