Mamdani Win Has New York Jews Rushing to Buy Guns Before He Takes Office
Shooting News Weekly ^ | 16 Nov 2025 | Dan Zimmerman

They’re preparing for a Mamdani administration lox, stock and barrel.

Jewish New Yorkers are arming themselves before an anti-Israel “mayor who despises us” takes the helm of New York City, several told The Post this week.

They want to “have a say in our protection and not have to rely on others,” one said.

The morning after mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s victory, firearms instructors and gun shop owners were flooded with urgent pleas. “It’s getting busy because of him,” said longtime gun safety instructor Lance Dashefsky. …

“I always ask people in class why they want a gun,” said Dashefsky. “And now the answer is Mamdani.”

Brooklyn firearms instructor Ross Den said anyone who was ever on the fence about getting a concealed carry weapon, is no longer.

That kosher cohort includes Jewish doctors, lawyers, plumbers and even rabbis, he continued.

“There are plenty of rabbis who carry – shul is where the greatest threat is,” said Den, adding “People are beginning to wake up and are now realizing they have to defend themselves and not rely on the cavalry to come save them.”

“”Well they didn’t allow guns in Warsaw in 1943.””

Not until they found a few brave Jews who figured out a way to smuggle them into the ghetto...and glad they did!!!! Good stories exist that tell us this....

“I’ve always thought all 5 Burroughs were part of NYC.”

“”They are””

No, they aren’t...Separate and apart from NYC which is Manhattan.

How many voted for this creep?

One of the nicest rifle shops we ever have seen was in the city.

Wonder if it’s still there.

I understand what you are saying, but the NYPD handles all carry permits for NYC, Staten Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx whatever. All the boroughs.

It’s all the same “may issue” BS with no one but the rich and politically connected getting a firearm permit.

In 1898, what had been the separate city of Brooklyn was consolidated with the city of New York, which was at the time primarily Manhattan, along with Staten Island, the western towns of Queens County, and the southern towns of Westchester County, which became the Bronx. The result of the consolidation was to create the current city of New York, with its present boundaries, more or less. None of the former cities or towns retained independent governments.

Not Jews overall. Exit polls showed Jews were the only demographic that was majority anti-Mandami, even secular.

Actually they didn’t. Exit polls showed Jews were 2:1 against Mandami.

“”The boroughs of New York City are the five major governmental districts that compose New York City. They are the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.””

To clarify my post #23..you were right in your post...They are the same and they’re not the same....LOL Always looked at the others as separate from Manhattan but I guess not...I grew up in the STATE, what do up-staters know? We’re not even considered UPSTATE unless it’s up the Hudson River and we all know what’s “up the river.” NY has some politicians who should visit there PERMANENTLY!

How can that still be after the Braun SCOTUS decision?

Believe it or not, when you see my recent posts about the 5 boroughs of NYC, with a NY UPSTATE rural background, I never heard of bagels and lox until I met a gal who came to work with me in Ithaca in the mid ‘50’s from - of all places - the Bronx!!!!

“I thought carry was basically impossible in NYC.”

It’s legal everywhere except where posted which is everywhere. Basically, you can’t carry in places where you would most likely need it. Democrat brilliance.

Why do they even live there?

They should move en masse to Texas.

It shouldn’t be, but a local federal judge just decided to ignore it.

Weird activity considering every anti 2nd Amendment bill coming out of Congress in my lifetime, always has a Schumer or a Feinstein ‘type’ sponsoring it.

I hope they get their firearms, but they better get ready for hoops, hurdles, & delays.

“Oh well, that’s the way they vote.”

Right.

February 12, 1966 Rabbi Morris Adler, a prominent and widely respected leader in the Detroit Jewish community and a figure in civic and interfaith activities was confronted next to the pulpit at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue in Southfield, Michigan, by Richard Wishnetsky, a 23-year-old mentally disturbed member of the congregation.

Wishnetsky, armed with a revolver, approached the bimah (pulpit area) during the service, ordered everyone else off, and delivered a condemnation of the congregation’s perceived phoniness. When Rabbi Adler tried to handle the situation, saying “I know the boy. I’ll handle him,” Wishnetsky shot him multiple times and then shot himself.

Shooter Wishnetsky died from his self-inflicted wounds four days later.
Rabbi Adler remained in a coma for 27 days before succumbing to his injuries.

The entire incident was witnessed by hundreds of congregants, including children attending a bar mitzvah.

The freeway area outside was re-named in honor of the Rabbi.
