An Illinois TV anchor has resigned from a local ABC-affiliated station after she said she was suspended for airing a tearjerking “non-partisan tribute” to her mentor, Charlie Kirk, following his assassination.
Beni Rae Harmony announced she was leaving WICS-ABC20 Springfield on Monday after she allegedly faced retaliation from the station for airing the emotional 1-minute and 17-second tribute on Friday.
“Many in the mainstream media have been fired or punished for mocking his assassination,” Harmony wrote on X.
Effective immediately, I have resigned from @WICS_ABC20 after being SUSPENDED for airing a non-partisan tribute to Charlie Kirk this past Friday.

The reason for the revolution is the revolution itself. So many Leftists at work in these United States. Against these United States.

Thats what seems off about it. Just like to know if she is off or her station management is off.

The next step is obvious. The FCC can immediately suspend the TV station’s broadcast license. The station can and SHOULD be taken off the air for this outrageous conduct.
All TV broadcast licenses in the U.S. are granted with the understanding the privilege to broadcast is dependent upon serving the public interest. A TV station acting to stifle civilized humanity in a brief statement of mourning expressed on a TV broadcast is easily grounds to jerk the license which is worth TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to the license holder.
The President controls the FCC. Here is his chance to act quickly against the communist barbarians in Springfield, Illinois, the capitol of the state (run by the dictatorial governor J.B. Pritzker).

If she did it on her own with no approval or notice then she deserves some kind of penalty no matter what it was and no matter how well intended.
Maybe I have a misconception of how modern newscasting is done.
I thought that the show was carefully done, planned down to the second and that anything aired had to be approved by the show’s producer.
If this tribute did not meet the station’s standards of policies, how did end up in the show and on the air?
Was Beni Rae Harmony Anchor and Producer of her own show?
She won’t have any trouble making ends meet. If you get my drift.
