PING!
I’m numb with disbelief that someone lost at slots!
You won the lottery when you went to Las Vegas and went home still owning your house and car.
That’s how casinos work. The odds of a win are always higher than the payout. And thus they keep the lights on.
Name the lame casino. They don’t deserve “customers”.
Meh... Casinos are not in the business of giving away money. They have the odds stacked in their favor. And anyone who goes and gives them money, the “luck” is fake and you will always eventually give them more money than they pay you. The only exception is the VERY rare case of a BIG jackpot. And even in most of those cases, the “winner” eventually gives it all back and then some.
Casinos exist for ONE purpose: to separate fools from their money.
I used to work for a company that makes slot machines. The machine’s decision regarding your winnings is determined the instant you pull the handle the first time. Your play is for your entertainment. Winnings are apportioned by law, and those machines grant wins based upon a predetermined percentage to the house’s winnings. It is entertainment for the math impaired.
The payouts on bonuses have got progressively worse the past few years. I know gambling revenues in Nevada are down this year. People are throwing in the towel. No fun anymore.
Best way to win in the past was to be a slot machine lurker. With the new computer controlled ones that can be modded remotely, including the payout ratios and amounts, you wont win.
Now the best way to come out ahead is to count cards on blackjack. And eventually the cameras will notice this and they wont let you play the tables after that.
I worked as a contractor at Foxwoods Casino. On my last day, after I turned in my badge, I bet $5 on Keno and won net $5. I beat the house, and I will never gamble in a casino again.
There’s ‘skill’ to playing slots?
Who knew?
Is that Hard Rock or Miccosukee?
I’ve been to a gambling casino three times in my life. Twice I was escorted to the exit by armed security personnel. You know, not much luck, but maybe too much vodka.
That machine is horrible! Lots of bells and whistles but not much of a jackpot. I love Dragonball machines, but I play higher denominations and bets and win quite often. For example, I won $6300 last April on a Dragonball at my local Arizona casino playing the nickel denomination at $5.00 per bet. You can win on penny slots too, but it’s best to stick to the more basic ones like old school Buffalo or Dancing Drums which are less volatile and pay out quite frequently.
my money comes too damned hard to piss it away like that...
no thanks...
Penny slot
16 bucks is 1600 pennies
Our weekly Monday trips to the MGM National Harbor are not about my 86-year-old wife trying to win...
It’s about stretching the losing at slots out for a few hours as entertainment...
Occasionally, she comes out ahead, but she always enjoys herself...
I don’t touch the slots... I only stand guard... An important function when you are in the DC-MD area...
We go early in the morning (9AM) and, win or lose, are out of there before the rush hour starts at 2PM...
The house always wins.
Haven’t you heard? The house always wins. Maybe not at first but they always win in the end.
