Vice president JD Vance's photo with Indian-origin venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani became a flashpoint amid the H-1B row as social media users questioned what was the purpose of the visit at a time when MAGA activists are opposing the US's quota for H-1B programs.

It’s a venture capitalist. They aren’t H1B’s. And it’s somebody putting money in the American economy. And it’s not Vance but somebody related to him. So 100% not an issue.
Apparently Vance’s responses were considered to be unambiguous. Why are you confused?
Come on, the issue is that he reportedly reassured them we’ll keep taking all their H1Bs!
That is clearly not all the article says. The article says the host wanted reassurances that we’d keep taking H1Bs and Vance’s answer was rated an “A+”. What is unclear about that to you?
Yes I did and it still is BS.
“”Come on, the issue is that he reportedly reassured them we’ll keep taking all their H1Bs!””
Funny... how there is no actual quote or video to that effect. Somebody’s fibbing (shocked, I tells ya).
“”The host VC saying he wanted to make sure we’d keep taking their H1Bs—and giving Vance an “A+” on his answers.
What don’t you get about that?!?””
What I don’t get about “that”... is that I’m one of those people that insists on seeing alleged things in writing, official, vetted and affirmed before I ASSUME that someone has done something or said something I’m not happy with.
IOW... show me proof that Vance ok’d that H1B deal before I diss him for it. I’m just funny that way.
I guess you are. What other message could he possibly have been there to deliver? And you don’t take verbatim reports from prominent VCs now?
There are actual quotes from the host of the meeting. You think our VP was meeting with prominent liars—and wouldn’t debunk him if he were?
Well, their offspring certainly dominate the finalists in the National Spelling Bee contest.
“”I guess you are. What other message could he possibly have been there to deliver? And you don’t take verbatim reports from prominent VCs now?””
I have learned through experience (decades of) that you don’t take anything you read or hear, especially on the internet, at face value until or unless you have vetted it yourself. Especially when it’s a negative “report” against anyone on the right, usually reported by the lying left.
As for the H1B visa issue, it has been abused under Democrats. Even “if” the H1B program is kept in place, I shall trust that it will no longer be abused under the Trump administration.... until I know otherwise via proof that I see with my own eyes (not any venture capitalist, prominent or otherwise).
“”There are actual quotes from the host of the meeting. You think our VP was meeting with prominent liars—and wouldn’t debunk him if he were?””
Again, I will have to see something in writing, officially... showing that the H1B visa program will continue as it has under Democrat administrations. Because I don’t think it will. I think, under Trump, that it will be scaled back to what it was and should be... a good and necessary program as long as it isn’t abused or overused.
The ToI doesn’t make up quotes.
Jeesh!
And Trump has them coming in full force this year.
(Presumably JD wouldn’t have acknowledged as much otherwise.)
“”And Trump has them coming in full force this year.””
Ok...let’s get to the crux of the matter. You either trust Trump (and Vance) to have America’s best interests at heart ... or you don’t. Obviously, you don’t.
Currently and at the moment.... I disagree until (or unless) I am proven to be incorrect. It’s just that “simple”.
I think you and some others here are making the proverbial mountain out of a molehill and jumping to wrong conclusions. Time will tell which one of us is correct on this, right? In my younger (working) years, I’d be willing (and able) to place a nice and hefty wager on it. Those were the days...
Some are very talented, most are so-so. I probably landed between the two. Better than most, but certainly not at the top of the scale either 🙂👍

My mind works a bit less simplistically than your mind—or most human motivations do.
Nope.
No to both.
You can’t make up your own reality.
Well bless your heart! Listen to you, on one hand you are criticizing the H1B visa holders, while on the other hand, admitting that you hired them......LOL!
So what makes you any different from any other employer who has to resort to such visa holders due to the alleged lack of domestic talent?
