However, there are pockets of the state where it’s a lot cheaper for whatever reason.

I had completely forgotten about mom pulling up to the pump and asking for “a dollar’s worth”!

The very first self-service gas station I ever used was “U Pump Ethyl” in Columbia, MO in 1970. I wonder how many remember that “ethyl” was short for tetra ethyl lead? That was the compound added to gasoline starting in the 1920s that extended valve lifetime. Also, how many remember “Ethyl” was a woman’s name?

The clever double-entendre of that gas station name always cracked me up. These days there would be so many offended people that the place would be choked with protesters.

A few places in Tucson are slightly under $3, like $2.999. Mostly I’m seeing low-$3 prices, and not much change in the last several months.

Cheapest in Phoenix is $3.03.

There are a couple of Weasel Piss gas stations (e.g. Pride Gasoline) that I do not count. I am also doubtful of Circle K. I was not including CASH prices (credit card higher). I don't leave the Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale area, and Maricopa is a VERY large county. I am willing to get QT Gasoline (Top Tier), and ARCO. That's as low grade as I'll go. If you want to pay #3.89 in Phoenix, it isn't very hard.

The cheapest I’ve seen here south of Boston is $2.59 for regular. Mid grade and premium haven’t changed at all...between... $3.65 and $3.79.
