A new study by the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) found that serious adverse events from mifepristone are more than 20 times more frequent than the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently claims. According to the FDA, only half of a percent of women using this drug experience severe adverse reactions. This new study discovered that nearly 11% of the women taking this drug experience sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or another serious or life-threatening adverse event.
EPPC President Ryan Anderson said "this study is the statistical equivalent of a category 5 hurricane hitting the prevailing narrative of the abortion industry. It reveals, based on real-world data, the shocking number of women who suffer serious medical consequences because of the abortion pill. The Trump FDA should take immediate action to protect the safety of American women by reinstating the safety regulations that the Obama and Biden Administrations removed."
Spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Amanda Slaughter tried to minimize concerns by pointing out that "unwanted pregnancies can have devastating impacts on a woman's quality of life. A career can be interrupted or terminated. Her relationship with the inseminating partner can become strained or die. The burdens of parenthood could be too much to bear. This study skipped over the cost savings of this nonsurgical abortion option as well as the obvious and significant risks of giving birth. As such, it shouldn't be used to mandate the return of the safety regulations that were so wisely disregarded by Presidents Obama and Biden."
In related news, Gov. Jared Polis (D-Col) just signed legislation requiring that taxpayers fund abortions, saying "no one must be permitted to shirk his or her duty to fund this vital health care. I will not allow bogus claims of ethical or religious objections to stand in the way of everyone paying their fair share. Fortunately, the availability of mifepristone will help lower the cost of two-thirds of the abortions performed in our state."
Is the “abortion pill” still RU-486, the powerful experimental anti-tumor drug? Regardless, it’s dangerous stuff, with a dide-effect of spontaneous abortion. Kinda like calling fentanyl a sleeping pill.
How could this be considered “semi satire”?
We should make an abortion pill that ABORTS THE MOTHER but keeps the child. The child deserves a chance for life.
