ADAM CAROLLA WAS RIGHT: 75 Days After CA Wildfires, FOUR Building Permits Have Been Issued in the Palisades (VIDEO)

Two months ago in January, comedian Adam Carolla predicted that the rebuilding process after the California wildfires would be a nightmare because of the progressive policies in the state. He said it would be near to impossible to get a building permit.

It has now been 75 days since the fires. How many building permits have been issued for Pacific Palisades? FOUR. Not 400, not 40. FOUR.

It looks like Adam Carolla pretty much called this one, doesn’t it?

ABC 7 in Los Angeles reports:

Low number of permits issued for rebuilding homes after Palisades Fire is ‘concerning’: Councilwoman

More than two months after the Palisades Fire, only four permits had been issued as of Monday for homeowners to rebuild their properties — a low figure that one Los Angeles city councilmember said was “concerning.”

Residents in the Palisades Fire zone are trying to figure out how to move forward, but there are several obstacles in the way — including the city’s permitting process and L.A.’s looming budget deficit.

People gathered at a City Council committee hearing Monday to try to get answers, but more concerns are being raised as the city tries to rebuild from the devastating fire.

“We want to get going,” one Palisades resident said at the meeting, held on the Westside.

“The blessing here is that we have been given an opportunity to show the world how you do disaster relief and rebuilding effectively,” said Jessica Rogers, president of the Pacific Palisades Residents Association.

Here’s the video report:

Thousands of homes were destroyed by these fires. At the rate they’re going, these neighborhoods should be rebuilt in about 40 to 50 years. Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom is spending his time doing a podcast. California desperately needs new leadership.

Back in January, President Donald Trump called out Mayor Karen Bass for the city’s sluggish response in allowing evacuated residents to return and rebuild their homes after the devastating wildfires.

Trump’s visit to Los Angeles came shortly after his inauguration.

Despite Mayor Bass’s warm welcome and promises of expedited action, Trump quickly pointed out the mismatch between the city’s public assurances and the grim reality shared by local residents.

During the press conference, Trump’s approach was straightforward and assertive as he confronted Mayor Bass with reports from homeowners stating they had been told a prohibitive wait of 18 months before they could start rebuilding.

Thanks very much for posting. I was wondering about that devastation. NO media coverage. NO human interest stories. NO interviews of displaced families. etc., etc.

NO accountability.

This could kill the Democrats. I thought Newsome would have been smarter and arbitrarily lift the restrictions.

It’s a state issue.

The residents have the result they voted for.

At the rate they’re going, these neighborhoods should be rebuilt in about 40 to 50 years.

The pace will quicken considerably once the current property owners give up and sell their land for a pittance. The permitting process for dense Section 8 housing goes along rapidly once the land is secured.

Exactly, Ca and the dems will not fail their puppet masters, they will displace all the average citizens so the powerful globalist elites and have their way.

AND I DON’T CARE. They are getting exactly what they voted for and in fact I want them to get it even more and harder!

Since the fire....there’s NO media coverage. NO human interest stories.......
NO interviews on displaced families who lost everything........
and NO accountability from the pols.

Looks like the Democrat media has been given orders......report on nothing that makes
Democrat Mayor Bass look bad. She’s in big trouble as it is....... as she tries to get reelected.

Same with Newsom.

I would not rebuild unless I had some kind of assurance that there would be better fire control and management. Too many wildfires could have been prevented. One fire would be enough for me. I’d get my butt out of Califecal, Gov. Nuisance and the rest of the scumbags can have it.

At this point, the vast majority of these bureucrats are religious zealots who worship Gaia. They are going to slow roll everything. You need to get them out of power and, unfortunately, even if the Right starts winning elections in CA, that will take decades.

I look at it as though more than half of them are hostages.

Everyone knows that these elections are not real.

---- "President Trump....help on aisle 9..."

Actually, it would be nice if this were left in the lap of the County of Los Angeles and the idiotic super-majority of the State legislature under the exquisitely moronic Gavin Newsom.

California Debt Clock $ 596+ Billion in debt and growing quickly

After all, they've been building that High Speed Rail since 2015, which isn't going anywhere and hasn't a single link to operate.

But about the imaginative public employee pension system ---

Transparent California Lunacy on steriods

You too could be getting a mere $9,687,592.68 in pension and benefits.

Please, President Trump, stay away from Democrat California!

The applicants just aren’t guaranteeing they will have enough lesbian midget roofers working on the project. It’s not the city’s fault.

A friend was burned out in the CZU fire ~5 years ago.
He said the permits to rebuild his house cost more than
the house that burned.
