His best role will always be Lex Luthor.
Patiently waiting for an article honoring/remembering his life.
“One of their German shepherd dogs”? That means there were others.
This could be the Sherlock Holmes clue of “the dog that didn’t bark” — or in this case, didn’t eat Gene and Betsy.
Don’t ask me what it means, but what about the other dogs?
Didn’t multi-millionaire Hackman have at least one maid coming daily/weekly to house clean? Do his children (or other family/friends) only call to check on their 95-year old father every six months or so? Did the neighbors/mailman/delivery man not notice an open front door or mail not being picked up? How did two of the three dogs manage to survive without food for weeks (or is that reason for the reported “decomposition”)? What were the reported “prescription pills”?
“Suspicious.” Ya think?!?
Blind man in Young Frankenstein...hilarious...I read where he had to literally beg Mel Brooks for the part because Brooks didn’t think he would be funny.
Brooks finally relented and GH went out and nailed it as always.
A real pro ... RIP Sir.
He didn’t deserve to die. He was building a house.

There are alarm companies that will call you every single day to see if you’re okay. The cost is reasonable, maybe $40 a month.
Every older or handicapped person (or couple) should seriously consider getting such a service.
Very sad story.
Hoping it wasn’t foul play of some sort, but it’s looking more likely.
Hope I’m wrong.
I saw a lot of the movies you listed, I hadn’t realized that I had seen so many of his films. He was great in all of them. What a sad end for him and his wife.
I hope they get to the bottom of what happened.
Wide open? Open just a crack? Closed but unlocked?
Enemy of the State. Him and his cat.
A serious actor. I doubt he ever phoned it in.
Scarecrow,...with Pacino.
Good buddies-on-the-road pic from the ‘70s.
“deceased dog was located about 10 to 15 feet away from Arakawa inside the bathroom’s closet,”
Was the closet door opened or closed? Seems important. A bad guy would shut a dog in a closet; an owner would not.
Interesting that he had 3 children and none of them were concerned about not hearing from their father for 2 weeks.
This is New Mexico. Nothing will be found or determined. Most of the country will forget or move on. However it will become fodder and the souce of weird speculation for the celebrity obsessed cults for a very long time.
I will always remember him from “The French Connection,” probably his biggest role.
Still, this is very very sad. An elderly couple in my church barely escaped carbon monoxide death in their motorhome - our old motorhome had an alarm in it, but I always cracked the windows at night.
Apparently, the deaths were not due to CM poisoning but we won’t know until the autopsies, and that usually takes a very long time.
