Fox News obtained exclusive information regarding the crew members aboard the Army helicopter at the time of the accident. The instructor pilot commanding the Black Hawk boasted 1,000 flying hours.
Meanwhile, his co-pilot was a woman with 500 flying hours, considered to be a standard level of experience in aviation circles.
The revelation that the co-pilot was a woman has reignited ongoing debates about gender roles within military operations.

Depending on the NVFGs, they could bloom out. The latest, however, don't do that much. Ever seen what happens when some POS shines a green laser into an aircraft windscreen?
You take off the NVGs and try to regain your vision. If you are flying in a high traffic area, common sense says not to wear the NVGs.
I had a woman pilot one time. She was the captain of the flight and what made me nervous was not that she was a woman, but that she was obviously overweight.
That’s “NVGs” ...
If not intentional then why did the helicopter increase altitude several hundred feet prior to impacting the jet? Obviously, to intercept the jet.
Oh, the horror…
Isn’t that cute?
The FAA considers every hour of military flight training and experience to be of greater worth than an hour of civilian experience because the military training tends to be in faster and more complex aircraft than what most civilians train and fly in, they train in more hazardouns maneuvers and in more hazardous regimes of flight, and there’s greater responsibility put on the military pilot at a lower overall experience level.
The military flight schools all graduate students with in the vicinity of 150 hours flight time. Despite the fact that 150 doesn’t meet the 250 threshold of the requirement to get a commercial pilot’s license, any graduate of an armed service flying course can take his diploma down to the local FAA office and they will confer upon him a commercial instrument license in the type aircraft he was trained in (rotorcraft helicopter, airplane multiengine land, etc), despite the fact that he’s 40% short of the civilian-mandated flight time.
I stand corrected, thank you.
I did too. However PAT25 never replied, that I heard, and the ATC did not verify or follow-up when PAT25 did not change course and did not order ERJ to move when PAT25 was non-responsive on coms or radar.
Who was the third person on the helicopter? A crew chief?
If as reported this was a training flight either could be at the controls and actually more likely the more junior one.
Unless she was flying the helicopter, the point is moot.

According to this guy:
During my six years in the US Army, I trained helicopter crew chiefs. It is their responsibility to be the eyes of the pilot and co-pilot, who – ironically – spend much of their time with their attention trained inside the aircraft.

“ The instructor pilot commanding the Black Hawk boasted 1,000 flying hours.

The pilot in command was an experienced man.
Next….
I am a woman, and I much prefer having a man in charge of a potentially dangerous situation. Men are just faster thinking in an emergency scenario.
Apparently from what I heard Jennifer Griffin said, this army training exercises happens every single day in that area so what changed last night..apparently this was totally normal its a daily occurrence so what the hell happened yesterday that was so different than any other day
Well, you all found out two of the helicopter pilots were white men.
The third was a woman. So, of course, you’re blaming her now.
As usual, some of you are intent on finding a woman or non-white person to blame.
“I know many, many women pilots that are outstanding.”
Oh, come on!
At no point in the history of the world has a man crashed an aircraft!
All due respect, those Warthogs can take a licken’ and keep on ticken’
I agree. I believe Trump knew much more about what really happened than what he said he knew.
