Yes, they actually posted this.
The proper response to this, in the spirit of the Prophet Elijah mocking the priests of Baal, goes something like this:
But it's worth reading a few of the more civilized replies:
The email:
A person with common sense might conclude that Christianity Today has a lot less to do with Christ these days and more to do with left-wing talking points from 1985. It's be an insult to spend my time debunking the whole article, but Trump isn't "upending life" for refugees.
He's rounding up criminals like this:
WATCH: Dr. Phil joined Tom Homan to round up illegal immigrants and the first one was a sex offender The roundup of illegals has begun in this country and the numbers are looking great so far. NOTTHEBEE.COM https://notthebee.com/article/we-got-dr-phil-on-the-ground-with-tom-homan-rounding-up-illegal-immigrants And this:
Trump isn't deporting lawful immigrants or people who have been granted refugee status, though he is going to be more selective in who is deemed a "refugee."
Believe it or not (this will come as a shock to the staff of "Christianity" Today), there is nowhere in God's Word where He instructs us to invite MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gangbangers into our communities so they can rape and murder our kids, or set fire to women on the subway, or flip off the news cameras.
God commanded the Israelites to not oppress the foreigner among them, because they themselves had been foreigners in Egypt (Exodus 23:9). But God also had very specific instructions for foreigners. For example, they could not partake in the Passover meal (Exodus 12:48-50) unless they and every male in their household had been circumcised (ouch!). The foreigners who sought to live in Israel had to follow Israel's laws and customs, or else be expelled.
Throughout the Bible, God spends a significant time instructing humans about borders - that is, about what it means for something to be set apart as unique (holy) from other things. Even in Jesus Christ, who has broken down "the wall of hostility" between Jews and Gentiles and between people and God, there is an extraordinary level of exclusion.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
These principles apply in a lesser sense to human organizations and institutions, chief among them nations. In order for a nation to be right and just before God Almighty, it must protect (set apart as unique) its own people, laws, and culture, which means having border laws.
And yet many of the boomer liberals that have taken over Christian publishing want us to believe God demands we have open borders to welcome in everyone on the planet while also facilitating the largest human trafficking pipeline in world history.
To further this narrative, they lie about the current president of the United States as part of a highlighted campaign that excludes many of the good things that Christians should be celebrating right now, including the protection of life and new opportunities to advance the spread of the Gospel.
Speaks volumes, doesn't it?
Yes, thanks for clarifying. The principles of what God considers justice are how we should understand the Ten Commandments which still apply.
My pastor recently said in a sermon that the commandment says “You shall not kill” - NOT “You shall not murder”. So I did a word study of the Hebrew word used; it definitely means murder. The Levitical law makes a lot of distinctions about what killing is forbidden (considered murder) and what killing is not. There is, indeed, a time to kill - in order to implement what God calls justice.
I think he said that because it was on life Sunday and he knew there would be people who claim that abortion is not murder. But he lost a chance to distinguish between what GOD considers unlawful killing (murder) and what US laws consider. For instance, the sacrifices to Molech that God abhors were - according to the remains found in Carthage - the killing of newborns and fetuses. And God spoke very strongly about that. Instead of parsing words inaccurately in order to accommodate parishioners’ unscriptural views, I would have liked to hear him actually just give us what the Bible actually says. The whole point of his sermon was that only God’s Word matters. But then he didn’t really clarify what God’s Word actually says - probably because he was responding to political attacks from parishioners who believe the unscriptural garbage spouted by “Christianity” Today.
If the bleeding heart leftists at CT cared about the downtrodden and abused “refugees seeking asylum,” why do they never address the conditions in those foreign countries that are so inhumane as to create multitudes of refugees?
Couldn’t the weeping Americans exhibit their usual interventions behavior and make those evil countries “safe for democracy,” not to mention safe for humanity. Every day they sit on their thumbs weeping and wailing, they could be stopping evil at its source.
Somehow I think they must like evil, since they won’t even offend it, much less demand it be stopped.
Here’s something they could eSily demand: “When America has granted refugee status to 10,000 persons from a given country in one year, America must cut off all aid to that country, break diplomatic relations, and give them a time certain to correct their cruelties, or else.” There! See how easy that is, CT?
And I am considering how best to deal with the situation. I’m praying for Pastor every day, realizing that in most things he’s been faithful and he is probably under attack right now. My husband (who died two years ago) was the pastor of a church closeby; I left that congregation when some members started a campaign to withhold offerings in order to force him to leave without any Scriptural grounds. I still have friends there and have intended to transfer back there once I felt strong enough to deal with the memories.
Back during Covid I contacted the visitation pastor who served us during my husband’s illness, expressing concerns that the church was hosting Covid vaccinations for anybody age 4(?) and up. I felt strongly that parents should at least know that these injections were NOT approved based on a ruling that they were safe. Safety for children was unknown at best, and I felt that both the government and the church were accessories to possibly lethal deception if that wasn’t clarified. The pastor I’ve been talking about now said it would be too traumatic to have anything on-site that could alarm parents or children. From then on, I’ve intended to transfer out. But I need to figure out my feelings about going back to the church where I still expect to hear my husband’s voice, and miss him dearly.
Shibboleth! Ha haaaaa! Rommel!, you magnificent badtard! I read your book!
Well-said. And Trump is the one who could/would do something like that.
Designating the cartels as a terrorist organization and doing everything possible to wipe them out is a very good start to that.
Pres Bukele in El Salvador has made his country SO MUCH better for everybody simply by jailing all known gang members and not allowing them to be released - realizing that a person with no conscience is basically a deadly animal. They are getting life in prison which gives them time to repent if that is possible. But never again will they be allowed to walk free and kill whoever they want.
Speaking of the Levitical laws and the principles of justice presented in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, an owner of a bull who gores a neighbor who does not kill that bull is responsible for the lifeblood of the next person that bull gores. If somebody knows that they are in possession of something dangerous and does not eliminate that danger to the innocent is guilty of murder.
We could use that information in our churches.
Asking for a friend.
Didn't realize you were lucifer’s furrever friend.
I live in Texas. The church I attended for 20 years, led by a very well known pastor, reopened when Governor Abbott lifted the ban on gatherings. They did not insist on mask wearing, just saying it was strongly encouraged. Had they insisted on mask wearing, I would have left that church.
It was to destroy the people who lived in that land, whose abominations of child sacrifice and debauchery were pretty much at the level of Auschwitz.
So yes, it was an act of holiness, just like the Nuremburg Trials (if they had really been honest) would have been an act of holiness.
God’s version of justice is not what everybody thinks it is.
At first I thought the deaconess who arranged the Covid injection event was a flaming leftist, but I think she is a good person who was deceived. And I think there are a LOT of people like that. Like sheep without a shepherd when it comes to the world we live in. They believe the thieves who steal, kill, and destroy, and to whom the whole concept of truth means nothing.
The thing is, for me to say that the truth about the Covid injections matters is “politics”, and that isn’t allowed in churches. I say that Satan will couch his lies in political cover in order to get the church to say it doesn’t matter or can’t be addressed. That is so wrong, and so many people are being deceived to the point of damnation by that very thing. Which is exactly why Satan does it.
I pointed that Satanic tactic out in a Bible study at my old church. Two large contributors walked out of Bible study and the next week the leader (a layperson) said we wouldn’t allow any politics in Bible study.
I *think* it’s impossible to embed tweets in their native format on FR.
There is a way but it’s way too complicated...............
Just so we’re on the same page, and since you brought it up, would you provide the biblical references?
Uhhhhh. I’m sorry. Did you say something about child sacrifice? Just want to be clear
.
That doesn't show up right for me. I'm thinking that *if* we want the full "X" experience on FR, we'd need to take a screenshot of the X post, upload that somewhere, and then use HTML to show that hyperlinked screenshot. That is pretty complicated. In the first week of his second term, President Trump plunged communities into fear, upended life for thousands of refugees, and moved to stop charities from helping immigrants already in the US.@AndyROlsen reports:https://t.co/aXOKylMXBj— Christianity Today (@CTmagazine) January 27, 2025
Oooohhh. Nicely played. I walked right into that one. So, just to be clear, you worship that God, correct?
Report: Tony Dungy in consideration to run for Michigan senate seat
Source: https://t.co/cBIi8Drfxl Coach Dungy is one of my all time sports heroes. He is always ready to share his testimony as a follower of Jesus Christ. I love and admire him. https://t.co/CxkjPTUauM— fordnGA777 ✝️✡️✝️ (@fordmb1) January 28, 2025
The biblical references that Gid commanded the cutting of babies out of their mothers’ wombs and bashing their heads against stones? Surely, you can’t be series.
Yep. I just sent a embedded Tweet to you and that’s what showed up.........
I don’t tell God what is right and wrong. That’s above my pay grade.
