FABULOUS news! Thanks for posting.
At least with this story there’s no “is it them Yogi’s” necessary.
Who’s going to rob a place in Pageland? You know you’re going to get shot.
Robber is a dangerous occupation.
Small, very RED county, and if you’re in that type of job, it is VERY IMPORTANT that the county be RED, as ‘locals’ can come by at any time and you may have to ‘deal with them’.
Feel good story of the day!
My County’s sheriff is Grady Judd.
A local Ranger (the name for our local police force) knocked on my door a couple days before the big storm here. He said a stolen phone was pinging in my back yard. While we were out looking for it, I brought up the Chilean gangs that are burglarizing our community.
He said they don’t seem to be violent but if they break in, shoot them. And the force will back me up. We laughed and then he said “But I’m not kidding. I guarantee you will not be prosecuted.”
It was kind of nice knowing that police in middle America now truly feel that way.
(And don’t buy a Galaxie phone. Their location tracking is terrible. It was found 1/4 mile away!)
It is extremely sad that a LEO would even have to make such a statement...................
Good thing this was in America and not New York. Clerk would be up on murder charges.
Sheriff Cambo Streater would like to remind the citizens of Chesterfield County, that South Carolina law states “A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in another place where he has a right to be, including, his place of business, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he reasonably believes it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or another person or to prevent the commission of a violent crime.”
Hope that applies to all races! As it should!
Only some sheriffs. Out here in CaCaLand a sheriff can issue a CCarry license. But, they only do so for politicos and celebrity security.
