Here's your chance to Rate Jimmy Carter's Presidency.
Use the standard school scale of 0-100, or you can use A, B, C, D or F as a grade score, with +/- as necessary...........
Fire When Ready, Gridley!...............
LOL!....................
Regardless Carter’s other shortcomings, anyone who’s ever graduated from one of the nation’s military academies, or had family who did, realize Carter was no dummy. It could be argued that Carter had an IQ even higher than the revered saint 0Bama. RIP Jimbo.
At best, 10, and that is being overly generous.
The Revenue Act of 1978 created the 401(k). Positive for some, negative for others as it killed a lot of traditional pension plans.
I rate him a 4.
Relative to then, bottom quintile. Compared to Obbama and Biden, well above 50%
That was Nixon. He signed the Emergency Highway Energy Conservation Act into law on 01/02/1974. It became effective 60 days later.
Carter was a big fat zero, and he rates a zero.
Obama and Biden will both be in negative numbers when their times come.
If you were, at the time, are a scientist or an intelligence operative, this guy was a douchebag fellow-traveling douchebag...
He, along with Frank Church, irrevocably gutted both basic sciences and the CIA permanently...
I was in the Marines when he started. L got out in April 77, so I had a hard time getting a job with the recession...........
Gotta be old enough to get that joke!
I knew exactly what you meant!...............
He got a former Stern Gang terrorist on one side and an air force colonel so ruthless that he capped his own CiC for being too soft on killing Jews on the other side agree to stop shooting at each other.
That has lasted more than 50 years.
This one good thing was more than offset by permitting radical islamics to assume control of ran.
He was president for 444 days of humiliation at the hands of the Iranian terrorist regime.
He let the military crumble, with scarcity of spare parts and funding, and fuel shortages crippling our military readiness.
He changed the speed limit to 55, rationed gasoline (remember odd and even days?), and gov’t thermostats to hot in the summer and cold in the winter because of an “energy crisis” he helped create.
He GAVE AWAY the Panama Canal, now they charge us 450,000 dollars to send one ship through. China controls property on both ends of the canal.
He cozied up to Yasser Arafat, one of the worst terrorists of the 20th century, while snubbing Israel. After his presidency, he still favored our Islamic enemies over Israel.
The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan on his watch in December 1979.
Interest rates went up to about 20 percent for a mortgage, and inflation was sky high 9.9 percent average over his term, the highest for ANY president. When he finally lost his re-election campaign inflation was at 13 percent.
Economic conditions were SO BAD under his leadership that for the first time a “Misery Index” was formulated combining inflation and unemployment — peaking at 21.98 percent under Carter.
In summary, he was horrible - known worldwide as a symbol of America’s weakness and decline. The differences between Carter and Reagan are legion, just like between the cardboard-cutout Biden and Trump.
I give him a big fat ZERO, along with Obama and Biden. I have nothing good to say about any of them.
5
High marks for the Egypt-Israel peace treaty, deregulation in airlines, trucking, railroads and telecommunications, nuetral marks for his “civil rights” and “human rights” efforts (more symbolic than actual “achievements”), poor marks on Taiwan-China, Panama, Iran and other foreign policy areas.
Carter inherited rising inflation, which the Fed, Nixon, U.S. monetary policies prior to Carter helped create, just as Reagn inherited a recession that began under Carter. Preseidents are not always the prime movers of all things that happen while they are in the White House.
Carter rightly gets low marks where they are deserved. He also gets low marks for things he neither created nor controlled (like the Arab oil embargo and the resulting U.S. gasoline crunch).
-100.
He caused world wide Islamic Terrorism. He gave away the Panama canal, which is now biting us in the @$$ just like I said it would at the time. He made our nation the laughing stock of the world. He wrecked prices, initiated the "Community Reinvestment Act" which later caused the 2008 housing crises meltdown of the economy.
He never did anything right. All his ideas and actions were bass ackwards. He was the worst president in history until Obama came along.
He started all the major wars after his presidency. The Iran/Iraq war was a direct result of that utter idiot bumbling Iran.
*ALL* Islamic terrorism after 1978 was Jimmy Carter's fault. Because that stupid, shit for brains idiot helped kick the Shah out of power in Iran, the religious crackpots who took over started pumping billions of dollars into Islamic terrorism world wide. And because the Iranians were supporting Shia terrorism, the Saudis started pumping billions of dollars into world wide Sunni Madrassas to put a different spin on Islamic teachings in the world.
*CARTER* caused all that spending on Islamic terrorism.
I cannot say enough bad things about super idiot Jimmy Carter, and I have been saying these things since about 1977 when that absolutely idiotic moron started doing things as president.
Carter was a disaster. None of the bad stuff that happened in the middle east would have happened if that shit for brains had never been president.
E. Biden
E-. Obama
F. Jimmah Cartah
(from what I've of his history during his term in office)
right on!
