I’m not a lawyer but if someone were to buy parts of MSNBC rather than the whole company, would there be any obligation to honor Maddow’s exorbitant contract? A business simply cannot afford to an employee or asset that doesn’t produce a return that covers its cost.
Anyone know what contract law says about this?

She gets about $600,000 an episode. Put her away in the funny farm. Being triggered for that seems like a severe character flaw at best.

A number of liberals make good livings as Podcasters, she has a built in following.
One thing about a Podcast is it frees up the person in terms of how often they do a podcast and the subjects they can talk about.
Look at Tucker Carlson, he probably is already making more money now than when he was at Fox and probably wishes they had fired him sooner.
Compared to the other options you listed, producing a podcast is pennies on the dollar compared to anything else, it costs virtually nothing to produce a show, compared to a magazine or TV show which cost millions to produce.
