New Polling Indicates the Kamala Harris Interview on CNN Did Nothing to Help Her

The long awaited softball interview that Kamala Harris recently did on CNN with Dana Bash did nothing to help her campaign, according to new polling from Rasmussen.

Even with a friendly outlet like CNN, many people felt that the interview was a dud which failed to convey any solid policy positions or s sense of where Kamala Harris wants to take the country.

Her campaign people are not helping her by hiding her from the public. Her ability to speak and do media spots is diminished.

From the Washington Examiner:

Harris momentum stalls, CNN talk didn’t help

In the first polling of voters after her long-awaited first televised interview, the momentum of newly-minted Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris appears to have stalled.

In a post by the pollster for Rasmussen Reports, momentum appears to now favor former President Donald Trump in the 2024 see-saw race.

The outfit’s overnight polling of its likely voter sample, typically with a slightly higher percentage of Democrats, showed that the advantage continued to shift to Trump following the Thursday night CNN interview in which Harris gave few details on her plans.

Rasmussen’s overnight data shows Trump leading the national popular race 49% to 45%.

Mark Mitchell of Rasmussen tweeted this:

Even the liberal outlet Newsweek trashed the interview:

Lousy Interview Bodes Ill For Harris-Walz Campaign

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” replied Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris in a verbose word salad when CNN’s Dana Bash asked in her Thursday interview why her policy positions have changed since President Joe Biden cleared the path for her to run for president.

Bash looked curiously embarrassed for even asking such germane questions of someone seeking to be the most powerful person in the world. Harris, on the other hand, seemed confident that Bash would make no attempt to press her on any issue, likely knowing that the interview’s main purpose was to offer her campaign cover from accusations of dodging media scrutiny. Accordingly, she did not explain what her “values” are, how they have led her to endorse policies significantly at odds with those she espoused before she became the de facto Democratic nominee five weeks ago, or why Americans should trust her.

If Harris has already peaked, and it looks like she has, her campaign is in serious trouble.

Statistically insignificant. Look at those sample sizes.

What would be a statistically significant sample size?

It’s practically too late to switch candidates again.

Ballots have already been printed in many states and some are about to be mailed out already........................

Not good enougj at this point. Voting starts in a week or 2. It’s game time folks. Get people registered and get your votes in early so you can help with turnout on the last day of the election, the final push.

> Polling lately has been grossly oversampling democrats

This has been true for as long as I have been following politics.

Not that i'm saying I am old, but hey kids get off my lawn and quit playing that music where every other word is something I would sent to the principal for when I was your age.

Much of our problem is the degradation of our culture through allowing tens of millions of unvetted immigrants from 3rd World sh*thole cultures, both legally and illegally, enter without any intention of assimilating into American culture.

We could deal with the radical leftists in society if it weren’t so bolstered by greedy invaders grabbing after favors and bribes offered by the left. THEY are what push Dems across the finish line in most races.

She got panned by pretty much everyone for that interview. Couldn’t even answer softball questions.

the most unqualified person to run for president (having a party nom) that I can remember in my life time.

I cannot believe we are this close to losing our nation in November and more than half of the American people don’t seem to give a shit! This is how I know we are about to get routed again in November. They’re doing the same strategic playbook from 2020 and it’s working to perfection again. What is going to be the cherry on top is not only is she neck and neck with Trump but her ace in the hole is sending Trump to prison. Don’t think for one minute it’s not going to happen. More than half of the people will be cheering for it. They have a demonic plan behind closed doors to use this situation to further their winning agenda this is why I was so angry at Trump when he decided to debate dementia Joe early in July instead of September… they said the trap and Trump‘s campaign fell for the gimmick. They had it already panned out. I saw it coming but nobody else apparently did not. And I was slammed left and right here for voicing my complaint. I was surprised how easily Biden fell on his face with the help of the media but if you look back that was their plan along …destroy FJB in front of the whole nation in order for their plan to continue in removing him. In other words they cleansed their hands and did not have an angry RAT crowd breathing down their necks. These people are sick they are evil from the pit of hell and they’ll do whatever it takes, even an attempted assassination against a former president, to get they agenda on the path to destroy AMERICA! They are so close they can taste it!

You can calculate it yourself here:

https://americanresearchgroup.com/moe.html

If you wanted to take an average of those in the chart (note: not a valid method), the MOE would be just a hair over 5.

Picking a 50-46 poll, with a 95% confidence interval and a large population, a sample size of just over 2500 would be needed for the results to be statistically significant. And that’s before you get to questions of sampling methods.

The mistake (lie?) that all those on TV use, including the pro pollsters who presumably have way more training than I do, and an even bigger problem, is that they apply the MOE to the difference between the results. This is simply wrong - and anyone who has taken a basic statistics course knows it.

MOE applies to each result - so, very roughly, double the stated MOE in a two candidate race to make the conclusion valid. Thus, a 4 point MOE would require roughly an 8 point difference to become statistically significant.

When I get through with a two year project I’m involved in currently, I’m going to look through several big time undergrad journalism curricula to see what percentage require a basic statistics course. That doesn’t mean these word merchant political junkies necessarily learned anything.

Try this other calculator too:

https://americanresearchgroup.com/moe2.html

Neither of these address the difficulties of comparing the results of two different polls.

Like they were with hiden Biden? The Democrat machine kicked him to the curb when he was no longer useful to them.

Don't surprised if the Democrats pull a last minute switcheroo if they realize that she is losing and don't have enough "cheat votes" to push her across the finish line.

Then again, Democrats would vote for a pet rock.

The debate will be telling. Maybe she'll chicken out.

Was. He’s moved on now, but not before damaging pretty much everything he came in contact with.

Isn’t it interesting that at no time in the last 20 years did CNN ever mention that their homely blonde “newscaster” was tied at the hip to the CIA.

Interesting.

Doesn’t matter. The Democrats are proving they could get a ham sandwich elected if they wanted too.

If I had the option of a ham sandwich or Kamala, I’d take the ham sandwich every time.
