The smaller batteries powering phones, headphones, tablets, computers, and other devices don’t seem to suffer the same thermal runaway problems that are common in larger batteries.
No way. They dragged him out - he was definitely deceased. With the immense, toxic heat that comes from those things, he didn’t have a chance.
I can’t imagine dying that way. It’s just terrible.
No, I have not. Those pics are probably 12+ years old. Still play. Hubby and I are a duo now. Him on bass, me on guitar. Play a lot of private gigs. Got a busy August coming up.
There’s something suspect right there — the 40 mph.
No e-bike is legal on a U S. Street or public bike trail if it is capable of over 28 mph. Class 1 and 2 is 20; class 3 is 28 (above the limit the e-assist has to cut out). So this tells me it wasn’t a mainstream or UL certified bike. I would avoid those.
The li-polys in RC models can put on quite a show though, even the little ones.

Interesting. I’ve got a small Li-Poly battery on an AC Outage detector. Maybe I’ll get rid of that.
No, they have to be overcharged or punctured.
All over third degree burns will do that.
What elevator electrical activity would that be?
To be fair, I’ve had some activity on an elevator on a few occasions and it got quite hot.
Fake info busted: Viral video shows EV battery catching fire in apartment lift

Folks, that’s why, though it pains me to say it, it pays to read the whole damn thing.
Man, that is terrible. Don’t be in a confined space with those things.
[Holy crap.]
Ho Lee Fook !!!
“He means electric cars. EVs are WAY heavier than gas burners.”
Tesla Model 3: 3582 pounds
Toyota Camry: 3700 pounds
” And 95 pound e-bikes are going to collapse a concrete parking garage?”
My e-bike is half that.
Weigh an electric SUV.
