He’s not a pussy & he wants his old job back. Also, Presidential debates have become the norm since Ford vs Carter in 1976. Many Americans expect these debates to continue to take place.

Same reason he speaks in solid blue areas. To take it directly to those who are arrayed against him. He has to take it into enemy territory to effectively change minds who might not hear his message otherwise.

At first I questioned Trump going along with this, but he has turbo-prepared for anything and everything by his rallies and by multiple interviews from people who like him and people who don't.

Biden has done the opposite: He shouts down or blows off anyone who asks tough questions.

Mentally this makes Biden less and less verbal and agile -- exactly what you don't want to be when debating someone, especially Trump.

Trump is brave. He never runs from this kind of thing. He will conquer in spite of his hostile debate venue.

People will like him even more after the debate(s).
