UPDATE 1:44 p.m. ET:
The jury has now been deliberating for more than 9 hours with no verdict.

They haven’t started deliberating. They’re still deciphering the jury instructions. LOL
In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead................
Jesse Watters said it best last night on his show..you take 12 people to a restaurant, four get the salad, four get the steak and the other four get pasta..each liking the meal they ate, so they are told “Ok this means you like the food here” well no, how can they say they like the steak when they havent tried it, and how can the people who ate the steak say they like the salad when they didnt try it
But some of that was taken up by reading testimony I believe.
Thinking about this abomination, if they find Trump guilty they really must convict on 54(?) felonies, because they are all identical entries.
Any holdout juror will feel very strongly against doing that.
So the jury does not have access to the “jury instructions” although these are posted on the internet?
I guess the defendant does not have access to the actual “predicate crime” which drives this whole case. It’s muddled enough to be a secret charge that Trump must defend against.
And the jury has no access to the jury instructions.
Our justice system needs a do-over.
It’s preposterous that this ‘judge’ saddles the jury with instructions that take over an hour for him to read, but won’t allow them a written copy.
This guy is filthy.
Or intentionally to keep Trump locked up in a hot dilapidated room so that he won’t go out and campaign.
My opinion, they’re window dressing, trying to make it look like their minds weren’t made up from the getgo. Hopefully it’s because one or two are refusing to convict.
If I were on this jury, I’d refuse to convict simply because of the ‘kangaroo’ manner in with the trial was conducted.
My instinct is that this judge hasn’t exactly made a lot of ‘friends’ among the jury. The whole thing has been an insult to our system of justice.
I’ve been on a couple of juries. Both were onnothingberger cases that should never have been in court in the first place (which was actually an issue that caused discussion and speculation among the jury). On one of them, we deadlocked 10-2; I was one of the two holding out for conviction. The judge made us sit for four days before giving up.
“The jury has now been deliberating for more than 9 hours with no verdict.”

Any guilty verdict will be overturned by SCOTUS on appeal in about 9 minutes.
I think your assessment is spot on.
9 months from now.
“...from what I’ve heard, [SCOTUS] won’t get the case until after the election. Although Levin said it could be fast-tracked to SCOTUS, but others have disagreed.”

I’m not an attorney, but I would think that the national impact of a guilty verdict would warrant a swift review by SCOTUS. Assuming Trump survives even an hour spent at Rikers.
One would think the 2 lawyers on the jury would know what a shit show this trial was.
“Hopefully it’s because one or two are refusing to convict.”
I think chances are good that none of the jurors will find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
It won’t matter that they ‘know’.
Their personal character will be what matters.
