Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Yes, quiet is good, but I spoke too soon. Jim is here to set up the A/C in the kitchen window the way it was supposed to be in the first place, so I'll be vacating this spot as soon as I finish my Second Breakfast, as he will be working 5' from me.
I'll just go find something to keep my hands busy. I'm not sure when Chuck and Bethany will show up, and they may even have her husband in tow. I just know that I may get some things done today that have been waiting for a long time.
I'm going to see if FD will spring for at least sending one of the boxes of her dishes to her, since she has thwarted the original idea. I'm tired of having them take up precious closet space.
Jim is done with the window, and the kitchen is so much nicer with a little bit more light!
Chuck and Bethany never showed up so it will be Tuesday before I can see what I’m doing to fix Chip’s food. Not that he’s eating... I really want to take him to the vet, but I need to get a net, first. Poor little guy. There’s got to be something I can do to help him feel a little better — if I just knew what it was.
At least it’s light in the evening quite late. Unless your window faces east. Anyway, glad you can see better. Maybe Chip will eat tomorrow.
The kitchen window faces north, so until the Equinox, and a little after, I’ll get some sunshine in the kitchen window, and the door, if I leave it ajar a bit.
Which is why I need the storm door on this back door. And Nate said he will a get a new one for it, but I don’t think the owner is going to agree with that....I don’t want another winter with the wind out of the north and no protection for the door. I can’t afford those heating bills.
Yep, that would be me.
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
I sorta slept in, but I’ll try to make it to church, anyway. I need to go take my shower asap and get dressed before Jim comes back to check his work. I don’t want to be sitting here in my Unmentionables when he sticks his head in the door.
It’s so much brighter in here with the Plexiglas in the window.
Chip ate all his food, and even went exploring on the kitchen counter. I think he was trying to check out the top of the fridge for a perch, but there is no room up there for him.
Now, though, I have to go shower! BRB!
Good for Chip! I went out for a constitutional, but now I’m back. Frank just mumbled over here and said he’s feeling dizzy. “Have you eaten breakfast?” “Ummm.” Goofball.
Eating breakfast is how I found out Chip went ‘splorin’. His footprints were in the small crate containing Instant Breakfast as the packets were all smooshed!
My allergies are driving me nuts! I have some of Casey’s local honey, but it has crystallized, so it’s not usable except in teas. Maybe I should start drinking tea again, just so I can get that honey into me.
Nate put the flagpole up so good that I’ll never get the flagpole down to furl the flag again. He’s a fireman/EMT and looks the part. He and Bethany are so cute together!
I’m happy with the jobs Jim did on the A/Cs. He put them in to STAY! LOL!
If it’s crystallized, you can add a little boiling water to it and give it a shake. Or add a little water and microwave 5 seconds, shake, another 5, shake, etc., until you can pour it.
I hadn’t heard about the boiling water/microwave/shake thing, but It’s certainly worth a try. It’s in glass jars so it won’t melt the container.
I’ll try it, but not just yet.
Jim was here for a bit while I was at church (I left the back door open for him) but he didn’t finish what he was doing. That’s OK. He’ll probably be back tomorrow.
I forgot to wear red, white and blue today. My bad.
I’m sorting clothes, now, for tomorrow.
The choir wore blue and black today.
I only saw the bishop with a patriotic tie, today but I’m sure if Bro Jordan had been there he would have been in patriotic tie, vest and pocket hankie.
My penance will be to wear red, white and blue for the rest of the Sundays until Labor Day weekend. Or at least the first Sunday of each month! That’s because I wore red and black today.
Jim showed me a switch he installed when he lived here. It’s to the water heater and shuts it off if I’m not going to take a shower every day. He said it saves him about $30 a month. We’ll see!
So now, I’m going to fix Chip’s din-din and hope now that the kitchen is back to being “normal” with everything where it’s supposed to be, that he’ll eat all his food more than one night in a row!
Jim did a good job on the window in here. I probably should have taken a “before” and “after,” but I’m happy that he knows what he’s doing.
I wrote light blue to church, plus my beautiful flag pin — diamonds, sapphires, and rubies (or garnets - can’t remember which).
Your flag pin sounds truly beautiful. I don’t have anything like that, but if I did, I would wear it every patriotic Sunday. Good for you!
My goodness! Tiny floof is up early on a Monday!
I need to hurry and get breakfast, then get dressed and head over to the laundry room. Unngh.
Nate put the flag in the holder with zip ties, so they will have to be cut in order for me to take the flag down. I’m sure he meant well, but....
FS will go to the Veteran’s Memorial in Little Rock today and honor the dead as well as speak with living Vets who are there for the same reason. He will thank them, and he will go alone because it’s how he pays tribute. I wish there were something like that around here.
This is your local American Legion Post:

Google doesn’t indicate that they have a website, but they’re on Facebook. If you look for them, you might find that they have a memorial observance today. I’ll go to the ceremony at Lake Park. It’s small, but sincere.
I’ve set my alarm and the coffee pot an hour earlier, so I can get out the door for exercise before 6:00.
The State Capitol may have something akin to what FS visits, but that would be 400+ miles away, so not even in my imagination.
The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers has a museum in St George, but I’ve seen it, quite thoroughly. There is also the Brigham Young home, which is spectacular in its own right, with some of his original furniture.
I haven’t been to the museum here, but I’ll go soon. I need to, if I’m going to live here!
The laundry is done and it was a shock to come out and find I don’t need my flash light....I need to go earlier next week. No nap for me today.
I found a cushion cover for Chip’s bed, and hopefully, I can coax him out of the tent and change out the covers on his pillow. I will have to brush the hair off the one that’s in there and keep it in a plastic bag until I wash it to keep the reek from permeating everything around it. (He has a “sour” sick smell, and I really do need to get him to the vet!)
Poor ol’ Chip! I hope you can get his clean pillow to him without upsetting him too much. Lake Park’s website says the Memorial Day ceremony is at 12:30, so I may have a nap before I go.
I’ve put the new, clean cover on the floor, close to his little tent, so hopefully, he may “claim” it by lying on it for a while. If he does, it will make the changeover a lot easier! I won’t know until tomorrow, though.
If I had a net and could take him to the vet and the groomer, I could swap out the pillow covers while he was still goofy from the tranquilizer he will need for both actions, poor kitty.
I don’t think he realizes he stinks. ;o]
