The Pet Zealot ^ | December 01, 2023 | James Alain L.

Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Good morning. Happy Friday!

I’d like to sleep in like this kitteh. Maybe this weekend I can catch up a little.

I don’t know if I ever told you that we got the Princess’ bloodwork report and her values are almost all within normal range. Those that are outside are barely outside. So it was probably the copper causing her liver problems and the pills seem to have worked. They say if things are still good in another month we can stop the pill regimen.

Today’s Wordle was an ‘F’ if you look at it from the right perspective.

Marmalade squee!

Good morning. I hope you had a good night!

It’s 59° and partly cloudy, and I don’t know if Jim will be able to do all the work from outside, or not. It will be crowded in here, otherwise. After my shower, I’ll try to rearrange stuff.

Chip didn’t eat again last night. *sigh*

Sorry to hear about the loss of power, Z, but good news that nobody was killed. Hopefully nobody was even hurt. Take care and we’ll see you when you can get back on.

I’m sorry your weather has been so exciting. Most of us don’t need such an adrenaline rush to keep us happy. I’m glad you’re alive to tell us about it!

Hang in there and remember that prayers are always going up for you and yours.

Good morning. Not bad, thanks. We had a thunderstorm with heavy rain in the 2:00 a.m. time frame.

Most of our thunderstorms will occur in July and August, but that doesn’t mean it won’t rain!

I’m waiting on Jim. I need to go to the bank, but I want to wait for him to get here before I leave. When I get back, I need to call my Real Brother and find out when is a good time to visit him. I don’t really want to travel, but I feel I owe it to him to not wait.

Of course, the whole purpose of the trip was for something else, entirely, and seeing my Real Brother was going to be a bonus, and I was only going to fly one way. I was actually looking forward to the drive with my FD.

Thanks!

If Jim doesn’t do it today, he’ll do it another day, and I’ll call my Real Brother again and see if he has any preferences as to the days of my visit.

The connection was so bad yesterday I couldn’t even hear him. So we’ll see...

Prayers are always appreciated!!

I almost told my FD that she was making it much harder than it was worth. I told her my Real Brother’s birthday was on Monday, the 19th, and all of a sudden I got bombarded with Robt’s days off and his work days (he works nights) and could I visit my RB first, and finally I just told her that it wasn’t worth it, that the original plan of her flying out to get the dishes, then driving back with me and me flying home made more sense than anything she had come up with so far.

NOTHING should be that stinking complicated when it was all laid out with the date of the birthday being the only one she needed to worry about. *sheesh*

Chuck and Bethany were going to do some of my repairs, but he got the wrong kitchen light, so all that got done was the replacement of the toilet seat, which was done by Beth while he was off looking for a left-handed monkey wrench.

And ever since I was expecting Jim this morning, a migraine has tried to move in and take up residence, and it doesn’t show any signs of going away any time soon.

No Jim, no replacement of kitchen ceiling bulb or the light over the sink that needs to be exchanged for one that actually fits, and I didn’t get a letter to Charlie written. So I’m going to watch a little more TV and then call it a day.

(Why does it feel like I have a dozen unruly kids?)

They were going to place the flag pole bracket on the outside wall so I could have it ready for Monday, and when they were haggling about where I wanted the bracket (never mind me, standing in my own doorway) the guy from apartment #1 comes and tells them, “no-no-no, it’s all wrong, the wind blew his off three times before the bracket was put in the right place,” and all three of them march off to #1 to listen to what the guy has to say.

He lives four apartments away from where I lived (#6) when he moved in, and the wind in that section is at the bottom of the “hill” so that the entrance acts like a funnel and sucks the air out to the street. What he experienced with his flagpole is because he didn’t take the wind into consideration the first time.

Anyway, long story short, after an hour, I sent a text to Chuck asking if I should wait for tomorrow (training for Bethany) or Tuesday, since Monday is a paid holiday. It took about 20 more minutes before the answer came back “tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, I have no lights in my kitchen where I need them, so fixing Chip’s food is going to be difficult and doing any baking is going to be impossible because I was using the light on the range hood to see by. Now, I have no light over the sink AND no light over the stove-top because the switch for both of them is out until such time as Chuck figures out what needs to be changed. And the light in the overhead fixture still hasn’t been replaced.

I don’t know where Jim is, because he’s been MIA since around noon so I’m the lucky person who has been caught between a rock a really dumb situation. So I’m going to try and let the stress roll off me and find a good book to read, then hope I can sleep. *sheesh*

Oh, for heaven’s sake. Please be very careful until you have lights again. Do you need to get a battery lantern for Walmart the next time you order?

The expression on that kitty’s face is how I felt yesterday!

Good morning. I hope you had a good night. I’m sleeping three hours at a time, now, for how long, I don’t know. Until my body gets tired of it, I guess.

Unless Chuck and Bethany went to Ace Hardware yesterday, or Chuck plans to go on his way in to work today, I have so clue as to when I’ll have working lights again. Even if the faulty overhead light (there are two in the socket) were replaced, that would help, but I’ll just hold them all hostage — no brownies and no bread until I get lights in my kitchen.

Chip doesn’t like any kind of change, so with me moving stuff around yesterday, and the people traipsing through here, he didn’t eat again last night. Poor little floof.

Not bad, thanks. I went for a walk after breakfast, got rained on a bit. I’m going to a funeral later this morning, so I should go get cleaned up.

Unless something happens soon, I’ll being doing nothing after listening uplifting talks!

That’s not true. I just don’t have anything planned, so my Saturday will be “quiet.”

Quiet is good. Kathleen is going to a birthday party. I don’t have anything planned between the funeral and picking her up. Maybe I’ll nap!
