in Congress after the House rejected a motion to remove him from the lower chamber, citing the ongoing ethics investigation into the embroiled New York freshman.
The House voted 179-213 to remove the first-term incumbent, dealing a blow to his fellow New York Republicans who sought to expel Santos from the House immediately. To do so, the resolution would require a two-thirds majority to pass the lower chamber, meaning at least 78 Republicans would have needed to join all Democrats in advancing the measure, but only 24 Republicans voted in favor of the motion, which was counteracted by more than 30 Democrats who broke with their party to vote against it.

What’s wrong with Santos?
Is he not corrupt enough?
They’re keeping him only for his vote....and he knows it, too.
It would have been a disastrous precedent to expel Santos before he is convicted.
The definition of a sleaze is Richard Blumenthal, who claimed he had served in Vietnam, which was a lie. He got 5 deferments for school. In 1970 he joined the Marine Corp. Reserves. He never set foot in Vietnam, at least while we were there militarily.
He was never threatened with expulsion from the Senate.
He’s a retard, but he’s OUR retard
With all of the corruption from the “Big Guy” how can they expel a Congressman for exaggerating his resume? It’s not like he conspired with a foreign government to rig a national election. We need to keep things in perspective.
“What’s wrong with Santos?
Is he not corrupt enough?”
The Democrats voted to keep him around because they hope he runs again in 2024, which effectively flips that seat. But they’re going to be disappointed if they think they’ll have Santos around to campaign against.
Even without Santos there’s still a likelihood (greater than 50%) that the seat flips anyway.
Santos has zero chance of being re-elected and he knows it. He has the lowest amount of campaign cash-on-hand of any incumbent Republican. He’s not running.
He’s not running in 2024, but there’s a ton of money in this race already on both sides and almost a dozen viable candidates.
Democrats voted not to expel him, because they hope to run against him next year.
Didn’t sleep with a Chinese spy.
Didn’t have a Chinese spy chauffeur for 20 years.
Didn’t pocket 10% for the Big Guy.
Didn’t say “Some People did something.”
Didn’t support Hamas’ atrocities.
Didn’t stuff classified documents in his underwear—or his Corvette.
Didn’t shit his pants at the podium.
Didn’t say he had absolute proof Trump colluded with Russia.
Any body care to add to the list?
I agree with all your posts!
Did hos spouse make 10s of millions with conveniently timed investments right before laws were passed making those investments very valuable?
I thought of the same thing
What’s worse a liar or a Hamass supporting raghead?
I wish people could get as worked up to take a vote on expelling Brandon over his lying and brazen self-promotion as they do about Santos.
If they start to remove all the liars, they have a big job.
McCarthy was a good start.
My a-hole Representative Brandon Williams (R-NY-22nd District), in his first term, voted to expel him. He's also voted to send money to Ukraine. I gave him a change, but I won't be voting for him again.
Bump!
Understandable.
