A new artificial intelligence app claims to allow the user to chat with Biblical (and not-so-Biblical) characters. A trial run leaves the user hoping that the real Biblical characters are more inspiring than their computer-generated counterparts.
Bible Pics Chat claims to allow users “to seek guidance and enter the gateway to biblical wisdom” by chatting with Biblical characters. While AI chat programs are now common, they can be tailored to suit individual preferences.
For example, when ChatGPT is asked if God exists, it gives a long preamble followed by an ambiguous and unsatisfying conclusion:
“Ultimately, whether or not God exists is a deeply personal and subjective question. It depends on an individual’s beliefs, experiences, and worldview. Different people may have different perspectives on this matter, and it’s important to approach discussions about the existence of God with respect and open-mindedness.”

Millions of the Jaredites are slain in battle—Shiz and Coriantumr assemble all the people to mortal combat—The Spirit of the Lord ceases to strive with them—The Jaredite nation is utterly destroyed—Only Coriantumr remains.
1 And it came to pass when Coriantumr had recovered of his wounds, he began to remember the awords which Ether had spoken unto him.
2 He saw that there had been slain by the sword already nearly atwo millions of his people, and he began to sorrow in his heart; yea, there had been slain two millions of mighty men, and also their wives and their children.
3 He began to repent of the evil which he had done; he began to remember the words which had been spoken by the mouth of all the prophets, and he saw them that they were fulfilled thus far, every whit; and his soul amourned and refused to be bcomforted.
4 And it came to pass that he wrote an epistle unto Shiz, desiring him that he would spare the people, and he would give up the kingdom for the sake of the lives of the people.
5 And it came to pass that when Shiz had received his epistle he wrote an epistle unto Coriantumr, that if he would give himself up, that he might slay him with his own sword, that he would spare the lives of the people.
6 And it came to pass that the people repented not of their iniquity; and the people of Coriantumr were stirred up to anger against the people of Shiz; and the people of Shiz were stirred up to anger against the people of Coriantumr; wherefore, the people of Shiz did give battle unto the people of Coriantumr.
7 And when Coriantumr saw that he was about to fall he fled again before the people of Shiz.
8 And it came to pass that he came to the waters of Ripliancum, which, by interpretation, is large, or to exceed all; wherefore, when they came to these waters they pitched their tents; and Shiz also pitched his tents near unto them; and therefore on the morrow they did come to battle.
9 And it came to pass that they fought an exceedingly sore battle, in which Coriantumr was wounded again, and he fainted with the loss of blood.
10 And it came to pass that the armies of Coriantumr did press upon the armies of Shiz that they beat them, that they caused them to flee before them; and they did flee southward, and did pitch their tents in a place which was called Ogath.
11 And it came to pass that the army of Coriantumr did pitch their tents by the hill Ramah; and it was that same hill where my father Mormon did ahide up the records unto the Lord, which were sacred.
12 And it came to pass that they did gather together all the people upon all the face of the land, who had not been slain, save it was Ether.
13 And it came to pass that Ether did abehold all the doings of the people; and he beheld that the people who were for Coriantumr were gathered together to the army of Coriantumr; and the people who were for Shiz were gathered together to the army of Shiz.
14 Wherefore, they were for the space of four years gathering together the people, that they might get all who were upon the face of the land, and that they might receive all the strength which it was possible that they could receive.
15 And it came to pass that when they were all gathered together, every one to the army which he would, with their wives and their children—both men, women and children being armed with aweapons of war, having shields, and bbreastplates, and head-plates, and being clothed after the manner of war—they did march forth one against another to battle; and they fought all that day, and conquered not.
16 And it came to pass that when it was night they were weary, and retired to their camps; and after they had retired to their camps they took up a howling and a alamentation for the loss of the slain of their people; and so great were their cries, their howlings and lamentations, that they did rend the air exceedingly.
17 And it came to pass that on the morrow they did go again to battle, and great and terrible was that day; nevertheless, they conquered not, and when the night came again they did rend the air with their cries, and their howlings, and their mournings, for the loss of the slain of their people.
18 And it came to pass that Coriantumr wrote again an epistle unto Shiz, desiring that he would not come again to battle, but that he would take the kingdom, and spare the lives of the people.
19 But behold, the aSpirit of the Lord had ceased striving with them, and bSatan had full power over the chearts of the people; for they were given up unto the hardness of their hearts, and the blindness of their minds that they might be destroyed; wherefore they went again to battle.
20 And it came to pass that they fought all that day, and when the night came they slept upon their swords.
21 And on the morrow they fought even until the night came.
22 And when the night came they were adrunken with anger, even as a man who is drunken with wine; and they slept again upon their swords.
23 And on the morrow they fought again; and when the night came they had all fallen by the sword save it were fifty and two of the people of Coriantumr, and sixty and nine of the people of Shiz.
24 And it came to pass that they slept upon their swords that night, and on the morrow they fought again, and they contended in their might with their swords and with their shields, all that day.
25 And when the night came there were thirty and two of the people of Shiz, and twenty and seven of the people of Coriantumr.
26 And it came to pass that they ate and slept, and prepared for death on the morrow. And they were large and mighty men as to the strength of men.
27 And it came to pass that they fought for the space of three hours, and they fainted with the loss of blood.
28 And it came to pass that when the men of Coriantumr had received sufficient strength that they could walk, they were about to flee for their lives; but behold, Shiz arose, and also his men, and he swore in his wrath that he would slay Coriantumr or he would perish by the sword.
29 Wherefore, he did pursue them, and on the morrow he did overtake them; and they fought again with the sword. And it came to pass that when they had aall fallen by the sword, save it were Coriantumr and Shiz, behold Shiz had fainted with the loss of blood.
30 And it came to pass that when Coriantumr had leaned upon his sword, that he rested a little, he smote off the head of Shiz.
31 And it came to pass that after he had smitten off the head of Shiz, that Shiz raised up on his hands and afell; and after that he had struggled for breath, he died.
32 And it came to pass that aCoriantumr fell to the earth, and became as if he had no life.
33 And the Lord spake unto Ether, and said unto him: Go forth. And he went forth, and beheld that the words of the Lord had all been fulfilled; and he afinished his brecord; (and the chundredth part I have not written) and he hid them in a manner that the people of Limhi did find them.
34 Now the last words which are written by aEther are these: Whether the Lord will that I be translated, or that I suffer the will of the Lord in the flesh, it mattereth not, if it so be that I am bsaved in the kingdom of God. Amen.

And yet the BOOK says...
Ether 14:22
And so swift and speedy was the war that there was none left to bury the dead, but they did march forth from the shedding of blood to the shedding of blood, leaving the bodies of both men, women, and children strewed upon the face of the land, to become a prey to the worms of the flesh.
He might as well be alongside Andy Stanley at this point.
That statement does in my opinion deserve a bit of explanation.
Especially since it directly contradicts Dallas statements in the article I will link. https://www.christianpost.com/news/dallas-jenkins-clarifies-his-mormons-are-christians-comments.html
One such example follows: Jenkins further stressed that he alone is responsible for the content in “The Chosen” and is inspired by the Bible.
“I’ve said many times the content of the show has zero influence or input from any form of faith tradition or church. None,” he added.
I hope you can see the conflict in my mind over what we know of Andy Stanley and What you think you know of Dallas Jenkins contrary to what he has said in his many interviews.
...and if I have misunderstood I’m sure you will set me straight.

Wow, a triple. Don’t believe I’ve been responsible for a triple ever. First time for everything.
Don’t we have a meet up scheduled post mortality to discuss what is and what isn’t?
Better to have it now, since one of us is obviously wrong and that will tend to have eternal consequences.
Dallas Jenkins is making gross errors there. From the missing image to other statements.
It doesn’t surprise me in this day and age; given any “show”. What did surprise me was to find out who he is.
It absolutely reminds me of “social gospel” (small “g”) liberal Christians that I worked with. They couldn’t tell you what the errors of Islam are vs. Bible basics.
It falls in line with where we are now. Trying to please the world 🌎🌍.
I won’t name the organization but I kept hearing from my effeminate boss that people weren’t buying their products.
Later I realized that they had switched to to pushing a liberal version of Christianity and it was being rejected by their target audience.
Now their “church worship” makes absolute sense: I was there across 3 calendar years and not once, not a single time that I can recall, did anyone crack open a Bible and directly quote from the Word of God.
My boss insisted I read some “prophecy” book from one of their favorite writers.
So I did. It was a complete piece of garbage. There wasn’t anything to be gained by reading it; it was so watered-down that there wasn’t a single thing to be gained from it.
So, of course when Obama came along they saw nothing wrong with him, either.

This is the audio clip of Dallin H. Oaks, current Mormon Apostle leader, from the PBS documentary, "The Mormons", declaring unequivocally:
"IT'S WRONG TO CRITICIZE LEADERS OF THE (MORMON) CHURCH, EVEN IF THE CRITICISM IS TRUE."Don't criticize?

And yes, the people I worked with couldn’t tell you what’s wrong with all that, either.
It’s a direct result of liberals invading seminaries and putting such people into churches.
Quote from the Bible directly and you just committed a hostile act. At least two from there were going on to preach. Maybe three.
I should have pinged you to these last few replies of mine, since you seem to have a desire to learn a little more about the meat of Mormonism.
I see you found them!
(holding the keys of the kingdom of God)
What a big responsibility!!
For those who don’t know, Dallas Jenkins said (paraphrased) “a good troll would be to have Jesus (on the cross) wink at Joseph Smith as he walks by”. 🙄🙄🙄
Because he was chatting with the III Nephi guy. In a text message about the show.
Oh I’ve been on to it for a long time.
But I do learn more details about it from your posts; absolutely.
I read the entire sales pitch over 35 years ago. As edited by their door-to-door people.
For those who don’t know, they are taught to circle readings in the BoM, skip you to another section with an arrow and so on.
I had already read the entire Bible, or at least most of the Old Testament and had reread the New Testament several times.
Fortunately. So I immediately recognized pieces from Scripture hacked together to sound Biblical.
I even agreed to go prepare food with a friend at one of their camp meeting (camping area). I had the free time on my hands.
The people were nice enough. I was happy to help. No, I did not buy in.
(And it came to pass)
At least 22 times!
And that’s just a quick count; skimming.
There may be more.
For instance, you (from what I read) have to accept the following statements as true, or the spirit of apostacy will get a foothold. U would suggest quoting scripture will lead to more discussion than quoting what you don’t agree with that is said by mere humans.
I; however; do not accept them at all.
And, since they directly affect one’s salvation; they are of utmost importance to be discussed before we croak.
It would appear that “utmost importance” got lost in the translation. Doctrine as quoted in scripture should be the beginning of discussion.
I think you choice of words in the above statement is worthy of further discussion. It would seem to me what one might desire in regards to personal salvation would be revelation not just discussion.
Not one of your many quotes comes from scripture. Repeat three times for good measure. You claim to believe in scripture yet not one of your “problems” comes from a scriptural quote. You seem eager to quote what appeals to your dislike, but I would argue not one of them is a quote from scripture, whether biblical or LDS scripture.
I should ask where you think one of us is headed if we should “croak” before salvation is assured? That is how I read your response. Please correct me if I have erred.
You might also explain why a meet up regardless of location would not be possible post mortality.
I’m not holding my breath.
They sure come from the mouths of your chosen religions many leaders.
And the things that LDS DO consider scripture gets no response from you guys at all.
Doctrine as quoted in scripture should be the beginning of discussion.
I've printed out LDS scripture; so defend it.
Ya think?!?
Here's some I've had highlighted for a while...
THE FIRST BOOK OF NEPHI
HIS REIGN AND MINISTRYCHAPTER 16The wicked take the truth to be hard—Lehi’s sons marry the daughters of Ishmael—The Liahona guides their course in the wilderness—Messages from the Lord are written on the Liahona from time to time—Ishmael dies; his family murmur because of afflictions. Between 600 and 592 B.C.1 And it came to pass after I, Nephi, had made an end of speaking to my brethren, behold they said unto me: Thou hast declared unto us hard things, more than we are able to bear.2 And it came to pass that I said unto them that I knew that I had spoken ahard things against the wicked, according to the truth; and the righteous have I justified, and testified that they should be lifted up at the last day; wherefore, the bguilty taketh the ctruth to be hard, for it dcutteth them to the very center.3 And now my brethren, if ye were righteous and were willing to hearken to the truth, and give heed unto it, that ye might awalk uprightly before God, then ye would not murmur because of the truth, and say: Thou speakest hard things against us.4 And it came to pass I, Nephi, did exhort my brethren, with all diligence, to keep the commandments of the Lord.5 And it came to pass that they did ahumble themselves before the Lord; insomuch that I had joy and great hopes of them, that they would walk in the paths of righteousness.6 Now, all these things were said and done as my father dwelt in a tent in the avalley which he called Lemuel.8 And thus my father had fulfilled all the acommandments of the Lord which had been given unto him. And also, I, Nephi, had been blessed of the Lord exceedingly.9 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord spake unto my father by night, and commanded him that on the morrow he should take his ajourney into the wilderness.10 And it came to pass that as my father arose in the morning, and went forth to the tent door, to his great astonishment he beheld upon the ground a round aball of curious workmanship; and it was of fine brass. And within the ball were two spindles; and the one bpointed the way whither we should go into the wilderness.11 And it came to pass that we did gather together whatsoever things we should carry into the wilderness, and all the remainder of our provisions which the Lord had given unto us; and we did take aseed of every kind that we might carry into the wilderness.12 And it came to pass that we did take our tents and depart into the wilderness, across the river Laman.13 And it came to pass that we traveled for the space of four days, nearly a south-southeast direction, and we did pitch our tents again; and we did call the name of the place aShazer.14 And it came to pass that we did take our bows and our arrows, and go forth into the wilderness to slay food for our families; and after we had slain food for our families we did return again to our families in the wilderness, to the place of Shazer. And we did go forth again in the wilderness, following the same direction, keeping in the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which were in the borders near the aRed Sea.15 And it came to pass that we did travel for the space of many days, aslaying food by the way, with our bows and our arrows and our stones and our slings.16 And we did follow the adirections of the ball, which led us in the more fertile parts of the wilderness.17 And after we had traveled for the space of many days, we did pitch our tents for the space of a time, that we might again rest ourselves and obtain food for our families.18 And it came to pass that as I, Nephi, went forth to slay food, behold, I did break my bow, which was made of fine asteel; and after I did break my bow, behold, my brethren were angry with me because of the loss of my bow, for we did obtain no food.19 And it came to pass that we did return without food to our families, and being much fatigued, because of their journeying, they did suffer much for the want of food.20 And it came to pass that Laman and Lemuel and the sons of Ishmael did begin to murmur exceedingly, because of their sufferings and afflictions in the wilderness; and also my father began to murmur against the Lord his God; yea, and they were all exceedingly sorrowful, even that they did amurmur against the Lord.21 Now it came to pass that I, Nephi, having been afflicted with my brethren because of the loss of my bow, and their bows having lost their asprings, it began to be exceedingly difficult, yea, insomuch that we could obtain no food.22 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did speak much unto my brethren, because they had hardened their hearts again, even unto acomplaining against the Lord their God.25 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came unto my father; and he was truly achastened because of his murmuring against the Lord, insomuch that he was brought down into the depths of sorrow.27 And it came to pass that when my father beheld the things which were awritten upon the ball, he did fear and tremble exceedingly, and also my brethren and the sons of Ishmael and our wives.28 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the afaith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them.29 And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us aunderstanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by bsmall means the Lord can bring about great things.30 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did go forth up into the top of the mountain, according to the adirections which were given upon the ball.31 And it came to pass that I did slay wild abeasts, insomuch that I did obtain food for our families.32 And it came to pass that I did return to our tents, bearing the beasts which I had slain; and now when they beheld that I had obtained afood, how great was their joy! And it came to pass that they did humble themselves before the Lord, and did give thanks unto him.33 And it came to pass that we did again take our journey, traveling nearly the same course as in the beginning; and after we had traveled for the space of many days we did pitch our tents again, that we might tarry for the space of a time.35 And it came to pass that the daughters of Ishmael did amourn exceedingly, because of the loss of their father, and because of their bafflictions in the wilderness; and they did cmurmur against my father, because he had brought them out of the land of Jerusalem, saying: Our father is dead; yea, and we have wandered much in the wilderness, and we have suffered much affliction, hunger, thirst, and fatigue; and after all these sufferings we must perish in the wilderness with hunger.36 And thus they did murmur against my father, and also against me; and they were desirous to areturn again to Jerusalem.38 Now, he says that the Lord has talked with him, and also that aangels have ministered unto him. But behold, we know that he lies unto us; and he tells us these things, and he worketh many things by his cunning arts, that he may deceive our eyes, thinking, perhaps, that he may lead us away into some strange wilderness; and after he has led us away, he has thought to make himself a king and a ruler over us, that he may do with us according to his will and pleasure. And after this manner did my brother Laman bstir up their hearts to canger.39 And it came to pass that the Lord was with us, yea, even the voice of the Lord came and did speak many words unto them, and did achasten them exceedingly; and after they were chastened by the voice of the Lord they did turn away their anger, and did repent of their sins, insomuch that the Lord did bless us again with food, that we did not perish.
