In a speech to the League of Conservation Voters, President Biden announced "plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean. This all-electric train will provide a nonpolluting alternative to fossil-fueled air and sea transport."
Biden rebuffed skeptics by pointing out that "people said the California bullet train could never be built, but it's under construction right now. This triumph of modern engineering can be replicated around the world. Two of the best and brightest Americans will make sure this happens. First, my son Hunter has already gotten buy-in from his Chinese business partners who will lend us the money needed to complete the job. All we need to do is put up Taiwan as collateral. Second, Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg will overlook all aspects of the construction to ensure a speedy and safe completion."
"Not to be forgotten are the strategic implications of a US-China partnership on a project of such magnitude," Biden added. "The unification of our two nations on a common goal will dampen hostilities and guarantee peace for our time by closing off the risk of a two-front world war and allowing us to concentrate on aiding Ukraine to dismantle the Russian empire."

One oceanic railroad for the public, and another oceanic railroad for the queen
This railroad is a payoff to China.
we on the gulf coast have seen what hurricanes can do to highways and railways, with winds up to 150 miles an hour.
we have wiitnessed through news sources what typhoons, twice as big and twice in strength, have done.
now, this geriatric president wants to build a railroad in that sea of dynamite
how far doown will the pilings have to be lowered to be sunk in the sea floor?
Over 6,000 feet.
On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
Well by seventy-six we’ll be A.O.K.
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

Maybe he just misspoke and really meant that he wants to build a transcontinental railroad! Now there’s a great idea! /s
Give him a break. He’s not up to the job and we’re stuck with him. If he’s able to Fetterman his way into a second term it won’t matter what we do.
We should prepare for 2 democrats running for Feinstein’s seat. Schiff will probably be one. The one we should vote for is Barabara Lee. Why? She’s 76 years old. Start a race conflict among the left and then we’d be able to fight another day.
Next, Give a dollar(or ten) to Cornell West. Put him on the debate stage-more race conflict-dig? Doesn’t anyone here understand what Ralph Nader did for us?

Hilarious.
Twenty minutes from New York to Cape Town via Los Vegas, Los Angeles, Hawaii and Singapore.
Who wouldn’t be onboard for that?
“Biden Calls for Railroad Spanning Two Oceans [semi-satire]”
Biden’s ears span an empty ocean.
Like Mr Flagler’s railroad to the Florida Keys.
TBF I saw someone do that on Minecraft once.
We did software support for a large cell phone company for a while. Got on a conference call to deal with a highest priority (Sev 1) problem where the shipping algorithm (supposedly) had stopped working, this after nearly 10 years of functioning as designed.
An angry suit at company headquarters wanted to know why the shipping software sent a pair of phones UPS Second Day Air instead of UPS Ground. A quick look at the order showed the phones were going a store in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
With Joe Biden’s plan I guess they could have gone by train.
re: which that railroad was backstopped by barrymore in the moviie “Key Largo”!!
bogart bacall barrymore e.g.robinson “yeah,see!”
I think the plan is to use a pontoon bridge to support the tracks.
that is an idea. With all the scenes of how the Pacific Ocean gets upset wth huge storms and waves, is there a ossibility that the responsible engineering firm might deem this project a bit nonsensical?
