"I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA," DeSantis said.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has finally weighed in on the looming indictment and potential arrest of former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis' remarks are quite interesting and worth reading in full.
"So I've seen rumors swirl," DeSantis said. "I have not seen any facts yet, and so I don't know what's gonna happen. But I do know this, the Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor. And so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety."
"He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors," DeSantis continued. "He says he doesn't want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes. And what we've seen in Manhattan is we've seen the crime rate go up and we've seen citizens become less safe."
"And so you're talking about this situation with, and look, I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," he added. "I just, I can't speak to that, but what I can speak to is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star 'hush money' payments, you know, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office.'
"And I think that that's fundamentally wrong," he remarked. "I also think it's important to point out when you're talking about these Soros-funded prosecutors, yes, they may do a high profile politicized prosecution and that's bad. But the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers, ordinary Americans, and all these different jurisdictions that they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda that these Soros DAs bring to their job. They ignore crime and they empower criminals. And that hurts people, hurts a lot of people every single day."
"The Soros district attorneys are a menace to society, and I'm just glad that I'm the only governor in the country that's actually removed one from office during my tenure," he noted.
DeSantis also said that his office won't be involved in a "manufactured crisis" by the Soros DA.
"We won’t be involved in this," he added. "I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA... He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in FL."
Trump supporters have been roasting DeSantis online about remaining silent over the potential arrest of former President Donald Trump. It will be worth watching if they believe that DeSantis spoke out strongly enough against the political prosecution over if they think he took a veiled shot at the former president.
DeSantis seems to not be one to shoot his mouth off at the first indication of something weird going on.
It seems like he watches it develop and considers what is really going on before getting involved.
The first reports of things always seem to be exaggerated and incomplete and it makes sense to wait until more information comes out.
Don’t know what his motivation for it is or where he stands politically, whether he’s a true conservative or a RINO.
DeSantis handled that more presidential than Trump ever could. Every word was precision ammunition at the real targets responsible for this affair, and without bluster.
“Wow! That’s heavy! Real important stuff especially significant now that we’re facing bank failures, Russian threats to use nukes, the new Saudi alliances with China and Iran to replace the U.S. dollar, North Korea’s firing off of long-range nukes, and the meltdown of the American economy that most economists are predicting is in the offing.”
Trump talks about all those things. It’s called walking and chewing gum at the same time, just like DeSantis is able to go to book signings, travel to Iowa and elsewhere, and still do whatever it is that he does.
If we are goign to have any chance of winning again we are going to need “clever”
An elbow to Trump is good?
Trump warns that this guy will turn on us.
This is â sanctimonious ass response
Worth repeating.
Attacking the wrong person. I was being sarcastic. I thought obvious sarcasm didn’t need the label.
Desantis was being underhanded imho.
He just did get involved... Finally.
yes, I’ve concluded you could plot the bell curve around certain members here
Rest assured; he will most definitely announce his candidacy before the ink on Trump’s fingerprint board is dry.
In other words, he handled it like a politician. And like a politician, it took him a couple of days to decide whether he should respond and another day or two for his speech writers to write that well-crafted response. We already know that people like DeSantis are more presidential than Trump. That’s why we like Trump. Being “presidential” is over-rated, especially in these dire times of ours.
Those words will get you second runner up for the Drama Queen award.
Go away Chris Christe. Don’t you have a donut or chicken bone to suck down?
EverTrumpers, did you think that one up yourself or did the DNC help you. People should be ashamed to love Trump apparently. Just because he was the best President since Reagan is no reason to like someone so evil, right?
EXACTLY
They may also get me a visit from the FBI, but they are true.
Trump says what he thinks....DeSantis just said what they all agreed he should say.
Only Trump is a real leader.
"I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA,"
As he says.. I am NOT going to get myself involved in POINTLESS silly $HIT!
