DeSantis' remarks are quite interesting and worth reading in full.
"So I've seen rumors swirl," DeSantis said. "I have not seen any facts yet, and so I don't know what's gonna happen. But I do know this, the Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor. And so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety."
"He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors," DeSantis continued. "He says he doesn't want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes. And what we've seen in Manhattan is we've seen the crime rate go up and we've seen citizens become less safe."
"And so you're talking about this situation with, and look, I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," he added. "I just, I can't speak to that, but what I can speak to is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star 'hush money' payments, you know, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office.'
"And I think that that's fundamentally wrong," he remarked. "I also think it's important to point out when you're talking about these Soros-funded prosecutors, yes, they may do a high profile politicized prosecution and that's bad. But the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers, ordinary Americans, and all these different jurisdictions that they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda that these Soros DAs bring to their job. They ignore crime and they empower criminals. And that hurts people, hurts a lot of people every single day."
"The Soros district attorneys are a menace to society, and I'm just glad that I'm the only governor in the country that's actually removed one from office during my tenure," he noted.
DeSantis also said that his office won't be involved in a "manufactured crisis" by the Soros DA.
"We won’t be involved in this," he added. "I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA... He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in FL."
Trump supporters have been roasting DeSantis online about remaining silent over the potential arrest of former President Donald Trump. It will be worth watching if they believe that DeSantis spoke out strongly enough against the political prosecution over if they think he took a veiled shot at the former president.

DeSantis is ignoring the possibility that what's happening to Trump could very well happen to him at some point. For that reason he should come out stronger against this abusive political vendetta. DeSantis himself could well be a future target for the "Trump Treatment".

DeSantis is smart not to respond to this until the facts are known. Is there to be an arrest or is it just manufactured theater on the part of Trump and the DA? It’s gotten Trump a lot of publicity and his sycophants have jumped to the bait. Meanwhile, Trump has compiled a book of the letters he’s gotten from celebrities.
Wow! That’s heavy! Real important stuff especially significant now that we’re facing bank failures, Russian threats to use nukes, the new Saudi alliances with China and Iran to replace the U.S. dollar, North Korea’s firing off of long-range nukes, and the meltdown of the American economy that most economists are predicting is in the offing.

I thought it was pretty weak sauce considering the proposal (arrest of a presidential candidate, while campaigning, for what doesn’t seem to even be a crime, and is quite possibly not even true).
Rove and Ryan and the Fox writers came up with this statement which Ron DeEstablishment had to practice over the weekend to get “just right”.
Well, it is the truth, if Trump had been faithful to his wife this issue would not have happened.
Let’s remember Trump has called DeSantis DeSanctimonious, Lara Loomer and other supporters have filed an ethics complaint against DeSantis here in Florida, Trump and his team have alleged DeSantis was somehow involved in a child abuse earlier in his career, etc..
The point is, it’s big-time politics, no one has to lay down and go to the mattresses for Donald Trump when he is involved with similar political and underhanded attacks against others.
