At my grandma's hundredth birthday party my cousin once removed and I had to explain repeatedly that no, we were not planning to get married any time soon and no, we did not need to be introduced to a "nice young man".

I was the only unmarried grand child and she was the only unmarried great grandchild.

Both of us did get married, eventually.

People can be married with a family and still be lonely.

I’ve found the the cure for loneliness is one thing: Being alone with Jesus.

Jesus is the best friend you can ever have. He will stick with you when all others forsake you. He’s with you in the bad times and the good times. Most will love you in the good times but can’t be found in the bad times.

The love of Jesus is much better than the desire of women.

And that’s a fact jack.

So let his love, presence, and blessings flood your soul today and every day if you’re single or otherwise. In Christ we are neither married or single, Jew or Gentile. We are his and he is ours forever, and that’s what counts.
